He deserves a chance at a lower level or with our academy. If we are serious and not trying to be an old boys club we need to hire the most qualified person available to develop (hopefully) world class talent.

Nostalgia is everything to a large amount of our fan base. Look at the unrelenting support for Pardew from many as he led us to a likely relegation, based on a goal he once scored in 1990.

That is utter bollocks. It went tits up in the end but even a f*ckwit could see that our PL positions under him and the FA Cup Final actually make him our our most successful manager in the last 25 years.

I haven't seen much evidence of goalkeeper coaching in recent years. A better keeper is much more important

So what?

Pardew still achieved more than others so the BFS apologists should just get over it.

BFS was lucky with us getting Sakho, (thanks very much Mr Parish). We would have been sunk without Sakho and BFS' "reputation" would have been fully shot to shit.

Then he pissed off claiming retirement was on his mind and ultimately has miraculously had a change of heart and gone to Everton - taking his team with him and leaving us to rebuild yet again.

Why BFS is a f*cking hero to some of you is a complete mystery.

A goalkeeper who never comes to collect crosses and stays on his line all the time is hardly going to make a great coach passing on those weaknesses. in addition, he's great at the flamboyant stuff, but weak on positional play and being able to play it out from defense. And yes, he does need to get his badges.

I see he's continuing with the same "I know it all" format at WBA with no wins and no new manager bounce there. He's been almost win-less for a year or so now hasn't he?.

What was BFS' "new manager bounce" stats at Palace then?

Koeman would have achieved what BFS has done at Everton but they chickened out.

They're going backwards when they wanted to go forwards.

You don't say why you wouldn't want Speroni nor what you expect from a GK coach. its different from being an outfield coach

Oh yeah because he did such a great job with Hennessy and Adrian when he was at West Ham.

I'm confident that Julian would make a great coach.

Also he has definitely declined in the past couple of years. I would like to think that a new keeper will be coming in January.

Jules said himself in one of the podcasts that he hasnt done his badges yet. Sounded like he wanted to and has put off doing them, so would think at the end of this season.

This highly capable goalkeeping coach didnít improve either keeper over the last 12 months and rated Hennessey highly. Glad heís gone

Kiely is at Preston at the moment. Been there since Sept. He followed Alex Neil from Norwich.
