I get what your saying but you have to remember we cant realistically sign a winger who is as creative as Zaha. Look outside the top 6 apart from Zaha and Mahrez which winger is creative and rips people to shreds? Creative Wingers who are able to effectively beat their marker are the most sought after expensive players!

Which is why most wingers outside the top 6 are basic run and cross and shoot Townsend types.

If Zaha gets injured its literally a level playing field with anyone outside the top 6. I have always said this having someone like Zaha is a luxury. He is the difference that sets us apart from everyone else outside top 6. As is Leicester's Riyadh Mahrez

It's a simple answer - we need both and we shouldn't have to choose.

We have played 4-4-2 90% of the time since Roy came in so pretty safe to say that RH is a 4-4-2 man.

Roy had the option of playing Sako or Zaha up top with Zaha having played there for much of the season and he went with Sako who he has also talked about as learning his new role.

I'm not saying we'll get them, I'm saying that's what we need as a minimum. I expect us to sign no more than 3.

Unless Luka picks up a nasty injury...

Centre back should be an absolute priority. If we get another injury in that position we are down to Damo, and Tomkins has a history of picking up niggles. Ridiculous really - we've gone from being apparently overloaded in that position to bare bones.

Sakho is due back for either West Ham or Newcastle though i thought. Could do with cover i agree but we have a player due back in that area.

Townsend is out till the end of February and we do not have enough wingers to even fill the starting line up at present.

Good news about Sakho, but with his and Tomkins injury record, and the sad evidence from the cup game that Damo no longer seems up to it, meaning we really only have 3 centre backs available, we do need cover. The idea of Damo and Kelly as our centre backs for an extended period of time is not attractive.

I'd love to see wide cover, but we seem to be managing quite well at the moment.

We are managing by playing CM's or full backs in the wide areas, there is a reason we are not scoring many. We are keeping it tight at the back which is helping us get the results but also Reidewald played at CB for Ajax a bit, Luka played there in pre-season for us, Ward has played there and it will probably longer term be TFM's position. Not necessarily in that order and not ideal for an extended period but we do have players who could cover those positions if necessary.

4-3-3 would be the way forward, with full backs pushing up (especially PVA), leaving a front 3 of Zaha, Benteke and Sako with cover in behind. Then if we signed Babacar for example he could still play in the front 3. Townsend could too. But if it's 4-4-2 we desperately need another winger. Sako is having a renaissance but I'm still not certain he would be as effective back on the wing as he is now.

A winger and a forward are priorities this window along with a CB. Think we could survive without a new keeper.

Walcott to Everton, Bolasie back home. That would do me nicely this window

We have settled for Hennessey's all round general poor play for far too long.

Guaita, Amadou and Babacar would be a decent window for us. I'd be more than happy with those three. Sakho will be back soon and Townsend is only out for a month so central defence and the wing aren't priorities for me especially with how narrow Roy plays his midfield.

Can we prioritise a winger please?

We have a striker who scores goals if we cross the ball properly. We have only one winger in the squad who is a) fit and b) who can cross a ball. Squad is thin when it comes to strikers and goalkeepers, but can we prioritise someone who can whip a good ball in?
