Surprised not to see any Brighton fans explaining why Murray's actions would be illegal if committed by a Palace player, but is absolutely fine because now he's with Brighton, he technically hasn't broken the rules.

Avoiding tax the right way.

Not that I celebrate Murray's situation but would it not mildly amusing and poetic if Bright*n got relegated due to the one player who might score goals for them getting done for tax evasion and being unable to perform for the rest of the season? I would not find it funny in the least and emit not so much as a snigger...

Regretably, Bozzo will not allow anyone to talk about it on his car crash of a site. So, we will only be able to snigger at the few hardy souls without sensitivity issues that come and chew the fat on our Away End without getting banned for the slightest aside.

It's weird.
Clearly he was great for us (particularly for that one season), and scored some important goals, but I never really took to him, like I have with other players.

I wasn't that fussed when he left and just hope he get's strung up now.

I'm in the same camp I'm afraid to say - never really warmed to him unlike lesser players of the same era e.g. Peter Ramage. So not saddened at all by this news, in fact it's rather amusing.

I'm not in that camp. Loved the bloke. He was totally a Palace player in everyway. If he is guilty then I cant and wont defend him but I think we should at least give him the benefit of the doubt - He has not even been charged?

Really? That penalty against Swansea after his injury was great. Ex-Brighton player who scored 30 goals in the promotion season and signed for us on a free? What’s not to like?

I see this as weird news but I hope for everyone’s sake (us as law-abiding tax payers) it’s sorted out quickly. Surely a bloke in his position doesn’t need the extra money through playing funny games with the taxman?

He was ****** brilliant for us. I particularly loved his goal celebration at Sunderland before Bolasie’s hat trick. It was the traditional hand to the ear but with an extra rotating radar element bunged in.

Quite glad he wasn’t there to take the play-off final penalty though.

Don't get me wrong, I like the story of it all, and how he came back from the injury, but despite all that I didn't think he was really your typical "Palace Player".

That's not me trying to belittle him as a player or doubt how good he was at times.

I think so - Never so much proved when he missed the pen against Millwall (nearly hit the lino) a week later he scored the winner at Old Trafford.

Surely such a fine upstanding club such as Brighton with such a strong moral code will not stand for any financial shadiness and will look to set an example for the rest of us to follow?

His Crystal Palace career remains untainted. He was fantastic, and not only gave us lots of goals and great service but also scored against THEM in big games, joined small band of 30+ in a season club, scored his first goals in the Prem for us and is still held in high regard. And we still made £4m on him.

For Brighton he done a runner for his arch rivals on a free, and got booed jeered off the pitch on a stretcher, played for them in the Prem and struggled at the twilight of their career. Came over at the Amex to applaud the Palace fans, which I bet grates them. And has now put his place in jeopardy and Brightons status too, by possibly doing something silly. " Brighton Legend" - no such thing.

It's sad that such a great player for us is potentially ruining his reputation over this. What we don't know at the moment is was it some scheme that his accountant said was fine or was it a let's hide this £. It's double sad as my son walked out with him v Leeds and became his hero.
