Wish they would play the 3 rd round as one the fixtures during the hectic Christmas period, with round 4 and 5 on weekdays

Like they have with the Europa League. Would make it tougher for a club like us though as the big 6 would take it so much more seriously.

Most likely route for a club like us to the Champions League is to win a cup, win the Europa League and get in that way. Still unlikely.

Other than being 9 minutes away from winning a major trophy (the next best trophy in England) and getting into Europe absolutely no point at all for a club like Palace.

It's all about the dream.

The FA Cup is essentially a tournament for the top 6 clubs with an interloper or two to make up the quarter finals and provide the media to make patronising comment to get the armchair fans interested.

The Premier League has eaten football.

And fans who have no time for the Cup are part of the problem too.

You really found no excitement in our last run to the Final. Nearly winning it? Bizarre.

We had this two years ago with certain people moaning like hell and say why bother in the third and fourth round. Then we unexpectedly beat Spurs and got drawn against Reading in the quarter finals they suddenly jumped on the bandwagon.

I'd rather be in the Seaweed's position today for once, very winnable game if a strong side is put out and a chance to get into the hat for the fifth round

How’s that Jack Marriot looked? If anyone’s actually watching Peterborough Leicester and not recordings of our cup run in 2016.

Having little regard for the FA Cup now and the obvious strain it places on a club like Palace is not the same as me taking no delight in Palace winning matches. I enjoy it as much as I've ever done but give me a choice between surviving in this division or a walk up Wembley Way, I'd take staying in the Premier League.

Ask any player where their interest would be most prominent in considering joining a club and I expect the status of being in the Premium League would always trump an FA Cup appearance.

Of course the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs (who play at Wembley now every other week) and the Manchester clubs, take it all for granted.

Even a club like ours will play fringe squad players to help protect their best players for league matches.

How many of us will take more than a passing interest in Wigan v West Ham today and delight in Ayew (if he plays) being crocked for Tuesday?

Why should people with a point of view different to your own be 'a problem'?

Seems completely dead now that BT have swallowed up nearly all the games. And it's disgusting how the BBC not only let it happen but jumped into bed with them too.

Tbf there were people moaning about us playing a weakened side against Utd in the league before playing Watford in the cup semi-final

To some fans, making sure you cling on in the Premier League year after year is more important than things like trophies

Sadly this is the way things are now.

Lose your place in the Premier League and you lose your best players. This more often that not starts a downward spiral. Crowds evaporate fast. Investment slips. Even if with prudent management and boardroom stability, any potential recovery of regaining Premier League status becomes threatened by having the best players having their head turned by richer clubs.

Relegation from the Premier League is now seen as a real possibility for all but the top 6. It has become a catastrophic prospect for the rest. The current Premier League table is very revealing.

I'd be glad if they all did. Should not be devalued by some mythical reasoning. Instead of having 3 matches a month for the first 3 months, space the fecking fixtures out better with some in midweek. Its not bleeding rocket science. Apologies, I'm Mr Angry today.

Well that is almost certainly Obiang out for our game on tuesday night.

I would think he's out for the rest of the season.....bad looking injury, ligaments. Ouch...
