Rakip looks far more advanced in his development.
The trouble with Gareth Williams is that he was banging in goals galore in the reserves so naturally fans wanted to see this wonder striker play.

He actually wasn't that bad of a player. Just not particularly fit. He always looked like he needed to shed some weight. And as such in the first team he was never going to be in the right place to score as he was off the pace.

Good finisher though.

I had the impression that he had good instincts but was lacking in physique - he just didn't look like a professional athlete. (still, neither did Greaves).
I guess you are saying the same thing.

He was a bit on the "chubby" side. I used to go and watch the reserves play a lot down at Copers Cope Road and he would often be seen wandering around (when not playing) with a pie in hand.

That being said at Barnsley away in 2001 Matt Gregg and Steve Kabba were ordering Pie and Chips in the Away end.

Are you getting your Gareths mixed up? Williams was a skinny fella, Gareth Graham was a stock, almost chubby.player.

Edit, after looking at pics Williams was a little chubby, funny, didnīt remember him as such.

He looks like a good link up man. RH needs to start using our subs and he looks like an attacking option once YC or JM tire.

I remember his debut (or early sub appearences) a shot of his cracked the crossbar at te Holmesdale end, it was an evening game. If that had gone in, maybe it would have been another story for his Palace career.

Good finisher though.
Exactly this, against the poorer players and slower pace of reserve team football he would regularly find himself with some time and space in the box and he was an excellent finisher. When he stepped up, the quicker tempo and better players denied him all that time and space even on the occasions he could get himself into the box in time and therefore he didn't get the opportunities to finish.

It was a League Cup game. Can't remember the opposition though.

I believe Gareth Williams moved on to Cambridge after Palace and pretty much ended his career at Bromley where he did a good job for a couple of seasons.

I also seem to recall he was getting into the plumbing trade while part time at Bromley. Not sure if that is what he is up to now.

Not a loan but we signed Elliot Grandin, French winger, under Holloway.

Made 1 League Cup appearance before we binned him off.
