Got there around 3:30. Usual spot in AW, near Joyce the voice and her family. Bunch of Brixton coppers (off duty) behind. Usual gang of retrobates. One of our group's ashes are up in the corner between AW and H. Does he count?

Incredible experience, how did we all get in? 20,000 on the old Holmesdale terrace, possibly more.

I took some student mates along to that experience and we had the night of our lives. Even better than the 5-0 drubbing of United.

Got in around 6 I think on the Holmesdale. Packed then, went back to Roundshaw for a Tennants party.

I was on the Holmesdale that night, I think the official number was over 23,000.
It certainly was a crush, and more like 25,000 in that end

I was there, Just! Car broke down on the way and had to nurse it the last few miles. Found somewhere to get parked, but managed! Even got back home again with a hole in the radiator, which necessitated a number of stops to get back to Worthing, where I was living at the time! So, it sticks in my mind forever, as well as the fantastic atmosphere and result!! Was in the AW, very tightly squeezed in there!

I got there at around 6-ish. Never got there that early normally. Had no idea it was going to be sardine full. Very lucky to get in. Think our highest attendance that season up to then was around 27,000 apart from a 40,000 v West Ham ( away fans loads) then *booom* 51,000 (57,000 more like unofficially) and hardly any away fans. We only got 15,000 v Oldham earlier in the season when we near the top .

I was in the Arthur with Pete Mills, Glenn (Colonel Brittan) and one other whose name I can't remember. I remember invading the pitch at the end and the next thing I remember is being in the Pub next day in Yapton where I lived. No idea whatsoever how I got home.

I see the numbering system went to pieces after 2!

Excluding Own Goal’s student mates, I think I am number 7.

Standing section of the AW. It was so crowded and we were so squashed, if you lifted your feet off the ground you didn’t move!

I'll take number 9. I was only a nipper. Sat at the back of the main stand with my late dad. He paid a tout seventy quid for 2 tickets as we couldn't get in when we got there. A lot of money back then.

Huge amount of dosh considering my full season ticket in the top league a few months later cost £14 (under 16).

Using beer economics that seventy quid 1979 = 150 pints which in today's money = £600.

Holmesdale for me. Arrived around 6 and couldn't get near our usual spot in the middle of the old singing section. Stood somewhere around the floodlight on the AW side. What a night. Won't forget it as long as I live. Walked back to the Forum in the Whitgift Centre and arrived home in Selsdon after 2am. Apparently there was a Cup Final next day, but it pretty much passed me by.
