Ronnie Moore
Cant find any mention of this, it most certainly is nt Palace related but Sky are reporting that Rotherham are to make an announcement about Ronnie Moore at 5pm today, (after their match with Gillingham). Thats all they're saying but I reckon he is either leaving for Ipswich or he has signed a new contract.
Anyone with any inside info? |

They're talking about this on Radio 5 at the moment. Apparently, he's expected to be annouced as the new Ipswich boss at the press conference later.
Before the start of Rotherham's game today, Moore walked round the whole pitch clapping each stand of supporters. Sounds like a farewell, if ever I've heard one.

Rotherham reject Ipswich's approach for Ronnie Moore but Ronnie wants to talk to the Suffolk club. If Ipswich get him things will be interesting, they have to pay Rotherham some compensation and they have to pay off the rest of Burley's contract....about 2 million pounds!

Apparently David Sheepshanks has denied ever having spoken to Rotherhams chairman and he says it must have been a hoaxer who called them to ask for permission to speak to Moore.............we'll see

Another graduate from the Steve Bruce school of loyalty. Moore was so quick to ditch the club he'd been with for ages with a couple of pound signs in his eyes, and was straight in the papers saying how much he'd love to leave Rotherham for a team way below them in the table, he forgot to find out if it was real or not.
The weasel even had the temerity to say: "If it was a hoax then the person who made it wants locking up because they have cost us two points." There is no "us" any more, Ronnie you berk.

All Moore did was state that he feels he's overachieved with Rotherham and that he's probably taken them as far as he can. If you look at the state they were in when he joined I'm inclined to agree with him.

Why oh why didn't Coppell wait a few weeks, now with the Stoke and Rotherham jobs available and the Sheffield Wednesday job will probably be available within the next week he would have had an excellent chance of getting one of these jobs and wouldn't have had to go to the scum.

That is exactly right and is why he hasn't gone elsewhere previously. As for Ronnie Moore - I feel a bit sorry for him, especially if doesn't get the Ipswich job. He's got good credentials and could resign from Rotherham with his head held high IMO. I'm sure another club will snap him up soon enough. |

But Rotherham play dreadful football don't they? Very physical stuff. Fair play to him - it's worked for him, but would it work at a higher level, where Ipswich are aiming at? Maybe he wouldn't employ that style at Ipswich of course, in which case this post is pointless and I can't think of another way to end it.

Ronnie Moore / Rotherham
Not sure if this is true, but i was at the Rotherham game on sat as i was in south yorks for the weekend. The millers are one of only financially sound clubs in the Division and are not in debt. At the start of the season i tipped them for the play offs, maybe a little ambitious but they do play decent football and in the likes of Sedgwick, Byfield and Lee they do have some talented players without having any real stars. On saturday the chant was " Stand up for Ronnie Moore " although he is a sought after manager, he may not want to take a job at a club where he would have to sell before buying i.e Ipswich

As seems likely that the call to Rotherham was just a hoax I do think that Ronnie Moore had now put himself in an untenuable (?) position. From what I saw he basically went round the ground saying his goodbyes on at the game and then was quite vocal about how he wanted the chance to leave Rotherham and go to Ipswich. Now there is nothing wrong with that and it would be a good move from him - but now that this all turns out to be a joke by someone where does that leave Moore.
The fans know he wants to go, the board know that he wants to go and deep down I expect Ronnie knows he wants to go. IMHO I think if Rotherhams results start to go pearshape over the next couple of weeks the board/fans are going to get on his back and possibly get rid of him quoting that his heart is longer in the job!! And all 'cos of a joke!!!

Your totally unjustified in sayimg this as Ipswich are a bigger club with more potential and I don't think as good as Moore is he could ever take Rotherham any further due to the wage structure (Etc) whereas Ipswich could go on. It is different and Moore has been with the club for years and could have left ages ago as has been rated for a ong time all he needed to do was tell his agent to look about! Different to SB |

Theyre may not be the prettiest (though they played good football going up from our league to be fair) but hes done it all on a shoestring budget, from Div 3 medioctity to establishing them in Div1 mid-table A miracle worker if you ask me.I reckon Sheffield Wednesday will sack Yorath and go for Moore. He deserves his chance at a bigger club |
