Should I wear my Palace shirt in Brighton?
On Sunday 27th April I am going on a day trip with my youth group to Brighton. I want to wear my normal outfit of a Palace top (and trousers etc.!) Although my dearest muther has requested I change to more neutral colours. So that I am not waving a red rag to the Brighton bull.
What do you guys think?

You will get abuse but I doubt Physical violence. Depends where you are going.

It always makes me feel a bit on edge though |

Don't bother. It's no fun, and you'll just spend the whole day trying to ignore seaweeds giving you verbal. I just save the sacred colours for a place more deserving than Brighton.

Expect lots of verbal if you do. Must admit to wearing mine around town on the day of the match down there and got lots of "chat" - 99% of it was good too!!

I was in Brighton on Sunday and I saw about 5 people wearing Palace tops and only a couple of Seaweed shirts.

I wore a Palace shirt when I went to Brighton a couple of years back and some c**t on the pier called me "palace scum"

I've worn mine a few times down there and don't really get any bother.
But I don't make a habit of it. Is good to see Palace shirts when walking around town though, I usually shout out 'EEEEEAAAAGGGLLLEEEESSSS !' In the winter I always wear my Palace jacket though. ![]()

to be honest lads in future I'd wear palace colours.
reason being... if you go in normal clobber you could be mistaken for being part of a hooligan elimant. The hools never wear club colours, and wearing your football shirt proudly is a clear message to any clubs mob that you are there for the football and nothing else...otherwise you could find yourselves getting involved in situations you really wouldnt want to be in. |

What an absolute pile of crap.
Anyway, seeing as we did them a huge favour yesterday, I think today you'd be cut some slack.

I watched the Arse-Manure game in a Brighton pub. People assumed I was a Gooner. I didn't dare correct them and tell 'em I was Palace.

The funniest thing I've experienced in Brighton was whilst walking through the city centre with my brother.
He was wearing a Palace shirt, was walked past by about 15 or so Brighton fans, but was only called "Scum" by some Wimbledon fans! ![]() |
