piperc is playing for a contract
Phil Barber lives....

Phil Barber has just joined St Leonards football club as a left back. While he is certainly pasted his best it brought back alot of memorys seeing him play.

I got talking to him about his days at Palace, in the club house, and he certainly enjoyed his Palace days.

Anyway, this got me thinking. Has anyone got any other old Palace players now playing for their local club?

I watched him play recently against Dartford and St Leonards beat us 3-1....
Barber looked ok for his age though!

Didn't he get caught up in a drug scandal at some point ? My memory isn't 100 per cent but I'm sure he was charged with some offence and went to court.

He was playing for Fulham under Ian Branfoot when he got caught in central London in possession of a kilo of heroin. He said that it wasn't his and the jury obviously believed him because he got off with a fine and played for Falkirk with Andy Gray for a while. I always thought Finn was a class act and was surprised he never went on to better things.

He now works for a players agency called "Wright, Wright, Wright" with Ian Wright and Andy Gray.

Anyone else remember the Brighton player going off with his head bleeding on Boxing Day 1986 after a row with Finn's boot?

Just done a quick bit of research. He was convicted for possession of heroin in November 1995. During his playing career he played for Palace, Fulham, Blackburn, Hull, Swindon, Brentford, Barnet, Enfield and Falkirk and he now works as an agent alongside Andy Gray.

Peter Nicholas played 4 times for the Clifton Casuals while he was youth team coach about 8 years ago, the same year I won player of the season, we also had Kenny Sansom's cousin in the back four, didn't concede many goals that year.

When we first signed Julian, Tony Finnegan was at Crawley for a pre-season game and I was told that he was Julians agent.

Good???????????

What f***ing muppet has embarrassed the club by putting into print the hideous song 'Your just a small town in Ipswich' as a 'Palace' song.

Not only is you're spelt wrong but the word 'town' is in there instead of 'team.'

Besides that, regardless of the grammar it's the most pathetic chant around - and there are quite few challengers for that particular title.
