BRIGHTON REMF supporters match
As I hope many of you are aware by now this seasons Robert Eaton Memorial Fund Supporters match will be taking place at Brightons Withdean Stadium, this may be your only chance to get a ticket at withdean to see a team in red & blue unless you are going to the 5 away games.

For this match the NORTH STAND will be open which holds 1,440 plus the North East stand which will be for away supporters & holds 700. Hopefully lots of you will show us your support & to me it will be a great honour leading a team out at the WITHDEAN. I personally put a lot of time & effort into this fund which was set up after ROBERT EATON was killed in the world trade centre. The fund so far has raised over £37,000 & this goes towards under privileged kids in NEW YORK a chance to play football.

Anyway all facilities will be open, not that they have many & no this does not include the running track but I have been informed the hospitality suites will be open.

Special guests for this game will be RICKY MARLOWE who played for BRIGHTON & missed the crucial penalty in last years game & Ian Hart from Southern Counties Radio.

As this thread is in travel heres the details:

HOW TO GET THERE BY CAR & WHERE TO PARK

The stadium is located two miles away from the town centre and is just off the London Road (A23). All You do is follow the M23/A23 to its very end, continue straight on towards town centre until you reach the big park on the left after about 1.5-2 miles & park anywhere you can, residents parking is in operation but as this game is a Friday nite you should have no trouble, the ground is located on the right hand side of the A23 nearly opposite Preston Park.

BY TRAIN

The nearest railway station is PRESTON PARK, this is less than a 10 minute walk from the ground, you can get direct trains from EAST CROYDON but those going by train the last one back is about 23.20 & you don’t want to be stuck in Brighton for the night.

TICKETS
Last year entry was by buying a £2 match programme & these were available on the night, all profits from this goes to the REMF. When I have more information on tickets & programmes I will let you know.

We all want to do CPFC proud in this event so if you would like to donate money then please PM me & ill tell you where to send it, also there will be a raffle on the night so if anybody has prizes that they would like to donate then please PM me. Programmes are now available and on sale in the Palace shop - £2.

If you can't get one, don't worry. Come down to Withdean on Friday and pay on the gate.

Use of the luxury portakabin which is the Albion Hospitality Suite will be available to all ticket holders. And the Sportsman pub (in the Withdean car park) will be open as well.

A fine of £1 will be levied on all Palace supporters who are heard to utter the word "five".

Game OFF - Pitch Waterlogged
Sorry folks. We've just heard from BHAFC that the game will have to be postponed, due to the waterlogged pitch and further heavy rain being predicted for tomorrow.

The Club are happy for us to play the game at a later date, but when is not yet decided. Possible dates in late November / early December are ruled out because of a recent rearrangement of the Albion's game against the Suffolk tractor boys and the fact that some members of the Eaton family are taking a holiday.

But we'll get back to you as soon as there's any news. We're likely to have a meeting some time next week.

Roll on the day when the Albion have a proper stadium!

A reminder to everyone that the rearranged REMF game between Albion and Palace Supporters is being played on Sunday 27 April (ko 3pm) at Withdean Stadium. Gates open at 1.30pm. The Sportsman pub is next to the ground and the Albion's Hospitality Area will be open to all.

You are all most welcome. Admission is £2 on the gate (or by programme if you bought one last November).
