Dave.......
is it just me, or is the new incarnation of the BBS as slow as Brolin?
On average, it's taking me 2 minutes for each page to load, and has become very frustrating.
Is this something that the server is doing to those of us with 33.6 Sporster modems?
I haven't posted in days - it's just become to much bother.
Please help me, Mr Fixit!

It's probably you just smoking more than usual. Makes everything slow down a little. Try amphetimines, time just flies.

It's just you- reboot your PC or MAC

The bbs is now faster than celtic taking a three goal lead in an old firm match

Stella - I did have a couple of days when mine was running slower than a slow thing on a go-slow but it's ok now.

There were also a couple of days when people were clearly able to get on to the BBS and post things and I could rarely get on and when I did I had to keep taking the "WWW" bit out of the address of every page and I couldn't make any postings.

Everything seems fine now.

The BBS is now super fast - even 6000 miles away and with a 56K modem a full page loads in 2 seconds.

Super slick as well - great stuff! And the multi-page link at the bottom of a thread is a welcome addition.

Burr is playing for a contract
The BBS works a treat for me at the moment - cetainly faster than it did before. I am using NTL now to get totally free internet call, the only drawback being that 3/4 of the time I connect at 14,400 bps! On the old BBS that was all but unusable, but now my link works nice and quick.

Thanks for the kind words

The site is faster I can vouch for that- I know there was issues for somepeople on the old server particularily when the site got buzy.

The new server is top of the range and there are only two websites on it - the BBS and the Supporters Trust so if you do find that the site is slow it is probably just the internet in general.

Try waxing your modem to make it go faster,
or putting go faster stripes on it!

Great job Dave and by the way I forgot to give you my subs for the BBS (Opps !) when I was over,bit skint now but in a few weeks the dosh will be in the mail as they say.
