Buying a new PC

I am looking to get a new PC quite soon, within the next 2 weeks actually.

Money is no object, and i mean that. If you came back with something over £3k i'd consider it.

I will need lots of memory, high processor speed, big HD, CD RW (not fussed about a DVD RW), decent graphics card.

Plus whatever else is deemed necessary by those in the know.

Can someone find me the best one out there at the moment?

Thank you.

try www.ebuyer.com or www.planetmicro.com

If you know what your doing, you can build your own customised PC to the perfect specification that you want. If not, they also do some pretty cheap 'ready-made' systems.

The micro mart magazine is a pretty good place to look. The likes of PC world are far too overpriced.

Alienware make the best PC's for 'money no object' gaming. Otherwise, if you want a decent PC and piece of mind, buy a Dell - they're built superbly, and having top customer service to back it up.

It won't be used for playing games, at all.

Their laptops are gorgeous though.

My own home pc is a Tiny and I have never had any problems with it in 18 months or so now!!! However my previous two ones were from Time and I did have a number of problems - and if you are not aware of it Time have recently bought Tiny out!!! Most of their pcs are not Pentium chipped so I would stay clear.

I have just bought a Dell for my youngest son based on a lot of personal recommendation. Ordered it about 10 days ago and it is being delivered tomorrow. You should check out their website as you can just about get a pc built to your own specs!!!

Good luck anyway!

Yep, that's true. I thought Tiny had gone bust, anyway. They merged with Time a year or two ago and that's the last I heard of them. Didn't think they were trading under the Tiny name anymore. My old PC was a Tiny and I had problems galore.

Thankfully, I've now got a Dell and I've got no complaints.
