England U19 v Germany U19- Why no Wayne?
Gary Borrowdale isn't playing, so why is Wayne missing.
Also, the U-21 squad for today's game vs Sweden: England Under-21 squad: Goalkeepers: Carson (Leeds), Grant (Derby), Lonergan (Preston) Defenders: Dawson (Nottm Forest), Hoyte (Arsenal), Hunt (Bolton), Kilgallon (Leeds), Ridgewell (Aston Villa), Taylor (Newcastle) Midfielders: Ambrose (Newcastle), Downing (Middlesbrough), Jones (Man United), Milner (Leeds), Reo-Coker (West Ham), Tonge (Sheffield United) Strikers: Ashton (Crewe), Bent (Ipswich), Bentley (Arsenal), Chopra (Newcastle), Cole (Charlton), Stead (Blackburn). I think Wayne's good enough to break into that group.

Borrowdale is playing at this moment (sky sports) for England U19s. Routledge could also play but I'm guessing is rested as he plays in the 1st team. Rooneyalso qualifys for the U19's I believe.

I can't believe Rooney didn't make the sqaud.
He's doing so well at Everton, and he's even had a few caps for the senior side. Whoever picked the U19 squad is making a huge error.

Rooney is injured, plus why would he play for the U19's when he is a full squad member?!
Super Wayne is good enough to break into the U21's. But Platt only picks premier league players who have played about one minute of football, if that in some cases! ![]()

A few reasons I guess.
Wayne's been playing first team football for Palace this whole season, it wouldn't suprise me if that was taken into account when the squad was picked. Secondly, I have a feeling Platt will get the boot very soon. He's had an incredibly poor managerial record, and I believe England's u21's drew today. c_block also makes a good point about Platt's inability to pick a good squad. Here's the line-up for todays game... 1. Scott Carson (Leeds United) 2. Justin Hoyte (Arsenal) 3. Liam Ridgewell (Aston Villa) 4. Nigel Reo-Coker (West Ham United) 5. Michael Dawson (Nottingham Forest) (capt) 6. Steven Taylor (Newcastle United) 7. David Bentley (Arsenal) 8. Michael Tonge (Sheffield United) 9. Carlton Cole (Charlton Athletic, onloan from Chelsea) 10. Dean Ashton (Crewe Alexandra) 11. Stuart Downing (Middlesbrough) Of the above line-up's Premiership players, only 2 of them play frequently for their teams. A complete and utter joke. |
