As a side note, if you travel to Bristol, and stay there for the weekend, it's a £7.50 cheap day return to Cardiff, and only takes half an hour to get there. Buy on the day.

Good shout. Due to Cardiff stations limited size, their are only a set number of trains it can recieve in a day. If West Ham win tonight THERE WILL NOT BE ENOUGH TRAINS! Book them TODAY and make the train journey RED N BLUE only!!!!!

...thought so. And kick off is at 3, and the stadium is a short stroll from the station, yes? And we'll be out in time for the 18.25 back.

Sorry for all the questions - I don't trust myself to get it right....

Use www.qjump.co.uk

Oh, for all the students out there, the ticket costs £27.05 with the young persons railcard. If you don't already have one, the card costs £18, which works out to be £45.05, but you get a railcard for the next 12 months.

Ok, talked to the lady at the First Great Western telesales line.

She said there's no reservation for return trains. What they'll do is there will be a queuing system at the station after the match, and it'll be 1st come 1st served.

The times for the direct trains are 1725 (bit tight), 1825, 1925, 2025.

Yeah, though I'm not sure I can take another penalty shootout!!!

The tickets available are "flexible" tickets though,. You can take any train on that day. (just hope there are enough trains!!!) so you don't have to make it for a specific train.

I'm on the 12.00 from Paddington getting to Cardiff at 2PM. Would have liked to have gone earlier but have to work Saturday morning and that's the earliest I can guarantee making. Booked to return at 7.25 but from what lohwj says above looks like it cpold be any of the trains he mentioned.
