Tickets Nearly Sold Out
Just contacted the ticket agency at 04.00 20/05/04. They only nhave £28 tickets left!!! Up in the clouds!!!
This issue is pure cr*p!!! Boy am I p*ssed off!!! We only have 10K season ticket holders!!!! Yet being a season ticket holder doesn't guarantee you choice, when all the w*nkers come out of the bleeding woodwork when we get to a final!!! What t*sser let season ticket holders have 3/4 per Season Ticket???? This is a most unhappy Season Ticket holder!!!!! ![]()

If season ticket holders have been able to order up to 10 tickets each, it doesnt take Einstein to realise that 31,000 tickets into 10,000 season ticket holders can create a problem.

I hav eto admoit to getting it drastically wrong. I was convinced there'd be tickets left come Monday and that 3/4 per ST would be OK. However, this ten rule has thrown everything up in teh air. Why allow ten?
Seems that by hook or crook, everyone could get a ticket through the 4 tickets rule yet to suddenly oincrease it 250% with no forewarning, really has turned it on its head. Not one person has a ticket in their hand yet we've apparently nearly sold 31000 tickets. Crazy. No need to panic at this stage. Still 10 days to sort this out so hopefully after today it'll be a little more clear how things have panned out. |

There doesnt seem to be any consistency. Online its 3 per person max, but on the phone it seeems to depend who you talk to. I am sorry if someone misses out but of course, just like any big ocasion, supporters come out of the woodwork - why call them wa*kers though? That's charming isn't it?. Its hardly like no one expected that is it? We have taken 40,000 to Wembley before, so clearly 9,000 are going to miss out aren't they? The real wa*kers of the piece are the ticket agency who not only cream it in by charging £2.50 per ticket commisison plus £1.50 postage, but can't get it right over the allocation per person.
For the record, I am taking a "wan*er" and her boyfriend who live in mid wales. She was a five year season ticket holder before she moved away a few years ago, follows the results closely but lives in the sticks. Why shouldn't she go just because she doesnt turn up every week? If everyone who wants to go a final turned up every week at Selhurst there would be mayhem wouldnt there, but don't knock casual or long distnce supporters for having the same desire. if you limted it to the regular fans, our allocation would be something in the region of 15,000 and our end would be half full. is that a better alternative? If you have a problem, contact the club regarding the appalling rip off and inadequate ticketing arrangements, don't criticise fellow supporters for sharing in season ticket holders excitement.

Well said Al. I'm not a season ticket holder because of work commitments and also the cost of travelling up to Croydon is a fair amount and with midweek games I have to leave early from work which causes a problem. I have still managed to take in five home games and one away this season so you can see, although I am not going to every game I am still an active supporter but can I get any tickets...??? I'll have to get one from a tout who managed to buy ten in one go!

But if you had paid £20 to become a member you would not be having this problem as well as gettig £2 back on each ticket you bought a host of other benefits

Is this not a question of what the overall demand for tickets will be? Unless season ticket holders are buying tickets to sell on (and I suppose we can't rule that out), then however many tickets they buy, the overall demand isn't changing, but perhaps being satisfied in a different way. I'm not sure if that makes sense! What I'm trying to say is that if season ticket holders buy 10, then presumably they're buying tickets for people who would otherwise have had to wait until the tickets go on general sale. So the tickets are being sold quicker than anyone expected, but we're not going to sell more than expected because of this rule. Plus there have been enough tales of duplicate purchases on the website that we ought to see a flood of ticket offers on here in a few days when people find they have more than they wanted. Or am I being too naive and trusting that season ticket holders won't try and make a quick buck with their extra tickets?

I am taking my non season ticket holder wife because I think it is an atmosphere she should experience, it will be amazing. The only problem is she has only ever been to one footy game in her life, Palace v Leicester in the Play-off Final at Wembley, so she might be a bad luck charm.

Bloody hell! I go away for one day and we've sold out of all the decent bloody seats. Grrrrr.... why does ticketing cause this club so many problems?

What about us season ticket holders that have, very kindly, bought tickets for the big game hunters, only to be told that the ten we were supposed to be getting, has now become three and are currently getting stroppy calls from all and sundry. Its not our fault!

I will NOT be going as I have not been all season as my finances would not allow me. However, I am in better shape now but am scared stiff of putting the jinx on the boys.
However, any right minded dad SHOULD take the opportunity to take their kids to experience a big match such as this. After all, young convertees buy merchandise and can become long term financial assets for the club, eventually spending more than the business oiks and their "freebies" ever do. The limit should only have been 4 per ST/member anyway and the club should never have used a game as big as this to try something new. As a result, they are sure to lose a few more of the faithful.

Thanks Al! I'm also a 'wan*er' fan. Supported Palace since I was kid and was a season ticket holder for many years late 70s and early 80s. Since moving to Hong Kong, I've been back to England nearly every year and always try to plan my trips to coincide with Palace matches. So I saw the 90 Cup Final and replay, play off matches and even Bruce's return with Brum 2 years ago. Yes, all big matches. And friends have managed to get me a ticket for Cardiff so I'll be flying back for this. And I can't wait!
Some of us got up at 3am twice within 4 days to listen to Palace Radio or Radio London over the internet and hear our beloved Palace win through to the Play Off Final. I just wish that some people would understand that the world is a smaller place now and that not every fan lives within walking distance of selhurst. But we are just as passionate in our love for the club and will do anything to support it, albeit if only for the big matches. OK, rant over! |

Just checked on the website and they seem to have all ticket prices available . I think this duplicates issue is causing the problem.

No you're not mate. As far as I recall, you'll come and watch Palace whoever they're playing and stand in the queue with me to buy semi final tickets. I'm refering to the people who turn their noses up at a free ticket for a Crewe/ Walsall/ any other non glamour team. And stop trying to be a martyr, it doesn't suit you ![]() |
