Poyet

Just read on the Soccernet website that Chelsea have put Gus Poyet on the transfer market for 2.5 million.

That obviously means game over as far as Forsell ever being seen in a Palace shirt again, but for 2.5 million maybe we should put in a bid for Poyet.

OK, so he probably wouldn't be interested in playing Division 1 football, but as they say in the classics "what you don't ask for you'll never receive".

I would love to have Poyet at Palace.

He'll be at Watford quicker than you can say "On your knees Gianluca bitch"

I dont think Vialli has an awful lot of spending power at Watford.

His transfer listing of a lot of first team players indicate that. If he had money he would buy first, sell later.

I dont think Watford could afford the transfer, let alone the wages.

Neither could we. £25,000 a week is not good Div.1 economics.

He'll go abroad. 2.5m is not that much, but he's getting on a bit and probably costs a bomb in wages.

And why would he be interested in a move to Palace?

I hate to say it, but we would have no chance of getting him

It doesnt mean game over as far as Forsell is concerned. Poyet isnt a striker but a midfielder. But if Forsell is sold, I doubt we can afford the asking rate. Just as I dont think we can afford Poyet's wages. If he wants to stay in London look to West Ham (about to sell Lampard), Fulham or Charlton, all better positioned.

I dont think we need any more midfielders. Hopkin was added for goals and he was extremely successful last time around and I dont believe any midfielder has matched his record recently.

However we desperately need CB's and Im disappointed we havent appeared to make any moves yet.

Expect to see Gus Poyet join Fulham or Spurs, but probably Fulham.
They have the cash, just around the corner from Chelsea, perfect move for him.

he says he wants to stay it the London region, not go abroad...surely thats means watford?i would love to see him at selhurst, but we can't afford his wages&if i were jordan i wouldn't spend £2.5 million on a 33,nearly 34 year old player.

Who has the fitness of a 27-28 year old though. I think Poyet is a terrific player & would add goals to a goal shy Palace midfield. Realistically though there's no chance of it happening
