The mismanagement of world cricket by the ICC continues as witnessed by Zimbabwe's pathetic display on day one of the South African test. What possible good is there in the development of the game in such one-sided affairs. The public aren't interested, neither are the players and instead of encouraging the game in Zimbabwe days like these are putting back the clock 20 years.

The last two world cups and the recent ICC Championship have been tedious affairs due to the ICC's insistence of allowing too many of the minnows to take part. Cricket isn't like football - lesser teams can't compensate for lack of ability by hardwork and teamwork.

Its time for a rethink methinks before too much damage is done to international crciket

The ICC is a disgrace but it only follows the directions of its members. Only two Cricket Boards oppose Zimbabwe's membership.

Zimbabwe should be banned until they are able/willing to field their strongest XI.

It's possibly worth looking at this from a New Zealand perspective. For decades (before my time) many countries wouldn't give us a test as they knew they'd thrash us. Once we were in the fold we still frequently had these massacres but eventually we became competitive. For a small nation like us (population several times less than London) success in sport comes and goes, often in obscure sports seldom played by most countries (eg Rugby) or when a freak of nature happens to pop up here, like the lovely Sarah Ulmer. To kick Zimbabwe off the circuit because they're no good would be like kicking all lower division teams out of the cup because Palace beat Cheltenham 7-0 a couple of years ago.

I'd kick them out for not selecting their best players.
As seen in the late nineties and early in this decade they were competitive.

They certainy shouldnt be allowed to carry on in the sorry state that they presently exist in. They should be made to withdraw from Test Cricket as others have stated, on the basis that they put out weakened teams. I dont know however what this would mean to teams like West Indies, who I read dropped several players including Lara and Gayle today, because of confliting sponsorship deals.
