Cocktail Courses

I really want to do one and being a student it's a great way to make money through out the year and holidays. Does anyone know what they're like and if there any good.

In order to become a qualified cocktail barman you have to undertake one month's intensive training followed by exams at the end.

Obviously they cost a few quid, but once you're qualified you can get work quite easily on a freelance basis. If you ever go to a bar called Toast in Hampstead on a Thursday or Friday night, speak to a guy at the bar called Steve. He is the man you need to speak to. He also runs the only 'bench consultancy' that deals with cocktail barmen.

Alternatively you could try calling Milk & Honey on Poland Street, W1. They are a Manhatten speak-easy style Members Club where cocktails are a speciality (they are excellent). I'm sure they would be able to point you in the right direction.

Good luck - it's something I'm considering at some point.

Well i saw some kind of course which you can do in 5 days. I wa looking to do it in about a week or so. If not part time for around a month at the most. I dont live in London anymore so thats out for me. Any web links of any sort mate ?????

you could just get a few books from the library and learn the recipes.
Maybe practise on your friends
