Jordan out?
OK, so who in his place then? Exactly. It's a stupid thing to say, so don't even bother saying it.

I suggest two possible courses of action for our esteemed chairman.
1) Jordan should admit that he is out of his depth and get somebody in to run the business side of the club. As grateful as I am for his investment and determination to make CPFC a success, he does make himself a bit of an embarrassment by trying to maintain such a high profile. Abramovich doesn't go for headlines. He just sticks the money in and enjoys the game. SJ should take a more back-seat role and get a football businessman with a track record to run the club (as the aforementioned Russki has done). 2) If he really is running out of money, perhaps he could court some other megamillionaire to treat our beloved club as a personal plaything... There must be loads of them out there, and with such dedicated fans as ourselves which of them could resist the allure of sunny south London?

The crowd continue to slumber, their expectations of this match mainly being that it will give them a chance to catch up on that well-earned sleep...

Jordan Out? What a ridiculous suggestion! Poor old Simon really seems to have the ability to get up some peoples nose's, whether this is prompted by envy is open to conjecture. He is arrogant, but then show me someone who was a self made millionare before they were thirty who isn't. He is brash and has a lot to learn about people skills, but couldn't these accusations be levelled at many other chairmen in football? Perhaps some of you would be happy with a self proclaimed safe blower like the bloke at Darlington? Or maybe Michael Knighton is more your thing?
Mr Jordan, has made mistakes in his short tenure at Palace, but I am convinced he is learning from these mistakes and he will become an excellent and supportive chairman for many years to come. |

To a lot of people, saying 'Jordan Out' simply makes them feel good.
These sorts are regularly to be found in the Players Lounge. Simon, doing his best to mingle with the punters and listen to their views invariably has to put up with comments like... "Here Simon, my beers flat, what are you going to do about it?" I kid you not. I'm sure these people get some sort of perverted sexual thrill out of speaking to a multi-millionaire in such a manner. A bit of respect wouldn't go amiss. Talk sense to Simon, and he'll talk sense back.

It's funny how no one seems to have taken a contradictary stance on this subject. Does this bring into sharp focus the fact that the Jordan Out types are in the minority?

You're right. There would have been a better debate if I'd have titled this thread 'Jordan Must Stay'

I know. But even though the group has been won, remaining fixtures have to be completed. Congratulations to Havinastella for possibly the easiest win so far of this World Cup, I don't think he's typed a bloomin' word has he? Marvellous Fayre!

Give me a chance, I am in a different time zone.
I am not an advocate of Jordan Out. My fellow combatants seem to suggest that the Jordan Out brigade want him out with no thought to a replacement and on some personal vendetta just becausehe is rich and lairy. I say that he is only capable of keeping the football club where it is on his own. I say that he had his chance when he first took over and had a clean sheet to start with. His period of fantasy chairmanship came to an end soon after the avoidance of relegation against Stockport. I believe he sometimes realises now that he canot compete but is a bit to egocentric to find other backers. Taking the figures he has quoted, it would appear that he has drilledat least a third of his personal fortune into our club, I would suggest that about that would be needed again and spent wisely to achieve his targets, unless its a wait and hope plan on the off chance that we sneak into the Premiership via the Play Offs. If so thats hardly a building block to future success, I would prefer us to be stable and reasonably financedbefore we entered into that Lions Den, not relying on its riches to finance players. No, I think on balance its harsh to ask him to up and leave after he has invested so much. Perhaps invested is the wrong word, I mean you would have more money left if you had invested it on the NASDAQ a week before the technology crash. I do believe he should be a back seat chairman and seek out significant investors to take the club forward. i.e. admit the job, the industry in its current condition is beyond him.

Sorry mate, but Jack wants hardball, so hardball it is. He asked a moderator to pick the winner of this group, but didn't specify who or when, so I just went ahead. The devil is in the detail as Jack is rapidly finding out, if the other groups are anything to by. Better luck in four years time. |

Bit pointless if something hasn't been debated. How was I not considered if I also did not answer.
Hope the other threadsactually have some debating on them.

What the fecks going on. This is a computer BBS for fecks sake, not every cant can sit here all day posting messages, some of us work, some of us have got arses to scratch.
Seems to be that self declared Champion Regan has set this whole thing up to watch others more worthy battle it out, whilst immediately eliminating himself from the competition for fear of a good old fashioned Sweeny style shoeing. Perhaps for the the quarter finals we could have the question raised 'Who is the biggest fraud Trolley or Jack Regan'. As for Moderaters, just following order now are they. Neil if I PM my address here in Chile I would like you to send over the last couple of Echos that I have missed, at your personal cost of course, tosspot.

I think we should be booing and slow-handclapping the ref here. PeterH is doing a grand job, the only one who's trying to win the game by my reckoning. But he's up against his opponents AND the officials. Get off Witherow! Are you d'Urso in disguise? As for Messrs Regan and Maidstoned, this is long ball rubbish type arguing! I think you should be replaced by players who can at least get the debate on the floor and knock it around a bit. By the way I like this blue colour thingy for the spectators to comment, what a good idea. I hope it works. I'm thoroughly enjoying the World Cup at the moment, but was too scared to enter myself – I'm not ready for the world stage. This one though is the 'group of death'.
