This thread has been inspired by the fact that I have just realised that the 1993-1994 Championship celebrating CPFC Mug I use daily for my early morning cuppa is now over ten years old.

Anybody can beat that ?

Now I know lots of you have all sorts of Palace related old tut that you no doubt catalouge and keep in temperature controled safes and all that but I aint interested in you because you tend to be sad and boring. What I want is people who bought something due to its Palace connection and still use it for the purpose it was designed ( or even something else ).

Regards,

Mat.

My Palace bed covers, also from 93/94 have made an apperance of late for some reason. Not sure why as I perfectly fine bed covers as it is, but my Mum decided to put the Palace bed covers out of me. I hadnt used them for about 6 years!

Comfortable mind.

In my old bedroom at my mum's there is a lampshade from the mid seventies which is still there, complete with pictures of the European Cup, UEFA Cup, Cup Winners Cup, League Cup and every other trophy we never won!! :o

Funnily enough I used my 1991 Zenith Data System Cup winners mug today for the first time in a month. Still used every time I have a mug of milk. :p

Still got the Yellow and Black 1990 Cup Final Replay shirt. The Red "Fly Virgin" has come off, and is now white. The shirt's still in decent condition. Shame I can't fit in it. A collector's piece I'm reluctant to throw away.

My sister teaches at West Hampstead girls' school. Somehow a Palace tea mug showed up there in the staff room and it's ended up at my house, being used by my youngest. It looks pretty old; and the one I use for my tea every morning has to be fifteen or twenty years old, too. It's bigger than the average tea mug, which is why I use it in the morning. The colours are fading, though, giving the lie to the old adage "these colours don't run". In the dishwasher they do.

Although not in use anymore I've got quite a few of the very early Palace mugs that I kept as mementoes, tucked away in the attic. They must be getting on for 30 years old now.

Sometimes my white Zenith Data Systems Cup Final scarf puts in an appearance. Bought it at East Croydon Station before going up on the train to Wembley. Probably not official merchandise but reminds me of a great day.

I have a 1990 Cup final poster in a frame on the wall.
at the time, I got it signed by just about the whole team, minus David Burke and Dave Madden, who I got to sign it a few years later.
However the signatures are now very feint and the whole poster has faded quite badly, which is a shame.
I do have a pristine second copy of the poster in storage (minus the autographs) and I might swap them over sometime soon.

I am wearing, possibly for the last time a Palace polo top, that is about 10/12 years old. It is made by TGF sports I bloody love it but my partner hates it due to a 'few' holes and a couple of spots of bleach and says she will not wash it anymore. There again she has been saying that for the last 6 years or so!

Mrs Justin, first met her when I was 20. She used to be a season ticket holder but now just comes to the glory games. I still use her (it) for the original purpose but to be fair probably less than originally. Truth be told she is now a bit old and stained like your mug.

I have a season 1977-1978 division 2 winners mug that I still use (Terry Venebles got us promoted, I think).

Admitedly, it was not me that bought it, as I was in the womb for most of that season, but it's still used and it's 27 years old.

My 'Fly Virgin' home shirt that I wore to the Cup Final is still in reasonable condition and although it no longer fits me is now worn regularly by my fourteen year old son as his officially 'lucky' shirt as he wore it to the play off final. It let us down a bit last season though!

I think my scarf is more than 10 years old now. It's that then fashionable tartan looking version which I think was around not long after the cup final appearance...

I regularly wear a scarf (or at least, have it dnagling from the car window on the way to away games) that I bought in 1977 off Trufan for 50p, no idea how long he had it before me?

I also have a claret and blue scarf that must be from late sixties/early seventies, not in regular use.

I have a 1990 mug (full of tea) right here. You can still read "FA CUP FINAL - WEMBLEY 1990" if you hold it up to the light, otherwise it is a white mug with "THE EAGLES" on one side and the remnants of the club crest on t'other.

The club shop was a bit like shops in the former Soviet Union.

We queued for whatever they had in stock - no choice of colour mind - and were grateful for anything we could lay our hands on. :D ;)
