Who was that bloke standing bang smack in the middle of everyone going apeshit when we got the winner at Brighton? It was bizzare. If he was a Palace fan how the hell could you keep that cool just standing there staring at the players celebrating lol. Looked like he was wearing a suit as well. Wor sunday best.

Who are ya? Or does anyone know him?

Son of Trolley?

everyone was going nuts after our 3rd goal except one man with glasses stood in the middle standing perfectly still and staring blankly ahead. 'store detective' style.

I saw it. I've actually seen that bloke at games before (a few northern away games IIRC) - he does look a bit odd.

Not at all. I've had reports from various sources that it was a mental mental celebration. If you just stand there doing all you must be some kinda mug.

That's my lot just behind him.

The guy just behind him to the right is an Arsenal fan and even he celebrated.

I've seen the detective at lots of games before, he always wears the same thing.

As I said on the other thread, I've seen him at Palace games quite often in the past. Definately saw him after Liverpool this season at Selhurst station and I've seen him at quite a few away games in the past. I've been travelling away fairly regularly for quite a few years now and he's one of the familiar faces you often see.

Whenever I've seen him he's been wearing a suit and does seem a bit odd, but he obviously doesn't show any emotion on the outside when we score - doesn't mean he isn't a loyal fan.

I am reliably informed that the 'Chappie' appeared as 'Cold' as a marble mausoleum but 'Cut' a figure of dignified propiety.

Does he has a disbility? If Soccer AM hadn't made a thing of it he would be as anonymous today as he was 7 years ago. Not everyone is a BBS member and cannot fight their corner.

Does he have a really strict face cos I know that my old Headmaster is a very loyal palace fan and he does look a bit weird outside of school.

With the greatest of respect, perhaps it is 'Injudicious' to draw conclusions from the chappie's exterior 'Demeanour' on television and conclude with any great certainty that he is a 'Stuffed shirt' or 'Dullard'.

Go on then explain what was going through your head. You go to nearly all Palace games, you're a fan, we get a last minute winner against our rivals. The away end goes mad except one person who remains motionless. How, why...???

Justin
28-11-2005, 05:25 PM
I can assure you I was going mad on the inside. Externally it is important not too show too much emotion though.

That's quality!
I've just found myself and the other half going nuts in the back row of the "stand"
the "store detective" goes to all away games, and maybe he does look a bit wierd and unemotional, but he must have Palace etched into his heart to do all the trips I've seen him at.

Yes, he always wears the same suit and tie (and green rainjacket).

Ratherunhygenic to be honest if you sit next to him, but he is one of us when all said and done.

When we win the premiership he will still be standing there like an idiot.

Why all the criticism and sugegsting he looks like an idiot?
Seen him at many an away match and it seems to me that he seems very committed to watching the Palace.

would you say that it's normal that a hardcore fan that travells the country watching his team doesn't move/change expression or anything when his team score a last gasp winner away at their local rivals?

It's not usual.
