Surprised no one has picked up the front of the Adder story.....the Dowie brothers are saying two maybe three signings in the window...preferring UK players but searching abroad.....they must get them over the line though...

Seems like a lot of trips to Scotland may pay off?

Any clues.......

Happy New Year lets just hope the January sales are better than last year.

Don't they always say 'we need to get bodies over the line.'

Dowie probably has a book full of Dowieisms.

We're chasing an Argentinian wonderboy who has never quite fulfilled his potential despite having great technical ability.

Palace plan double bid

Dec 30 2005

By David Groves

DIRECTOR of Football Bob Dowie has revealed this week that Crystal Palace are trying to sign two players in next month's Championship transfer window.

However, Dowie was keeping coy about the identities of the transfer targets and even their playing positions as the Eagles bid to strengthen their squad in preparation for a planned Premiership return.

Dowie has been working alongside his brother, Palace manager Iain Dowie, in a bid to secure the mystery men.

Bob Dowie admitted: "We are looking to strengthen the squad slightly in the January transfer window and we have two, possibly three players, in mind. However, it would do a disservice to the current players to talk about what areas we need strengthening in the team. And it may be that a couple of players will have to go in order for the new men to come in."

Palace's Director of Football would not be drawn either on recent speculation that out-offavour striker Wayne Andrews and winger Tommy Black would be the two men to leave Selhurst Park as club chairman Simon Jordan cuts his cloth accordingly.

I wonder what the corresponding phrase "or I am a Dutchman" is in Holland?
