Vote for AJ to play for England in the poll on the Sky Sports News website!

The homepage of the SSN football website has a recently added poll of who should go to the WC, most specifically who should partner Owen.
Whilst I don't think AJ should partner Owen, get a vote in anyway, to emphasise that he should go!

Visit the above link and it's on the left side of the screen, near the bottom.

These polls make me laugh sometimes. One in twelve people voting for Robbie Fowler!!!! Never did it for England, or Leeds, or Man City.... Why not bring back Shearer! That was a joke by the way...

At least AJ is being mentioned in these polls, his name has been missing from talks of who could replace Rooney....

At least it's risen to 3%! One of our biggest achievements this season could be to make AJ top of this poll!

Come on! We can do this! It doesn't matter if AJ fails to outvote Bent, Freak or Defoe as they're going anyway, but Harewood, Ashton, Beattie etc are all around 5%. We have to topple that! ...

CPFC_R_GREAT

Bit pointless really, i don't think he should lead the line, i think he should go to Germany be there's no way he can start the first match there'd be a public outcry.

I voted AJ by the way still :)

CPFC_R_GREAT, as I sated in my initial post, I don't think AJ should partner Owen myself, but vote him, so he's more likely to go!

dont worry if Crouch is leading. he has to take more then two strikers with him if he wants to win the world cup. so aj is in with a chance

But yes, he has my vote

It's Sven's stupid fault for excluding AJ for the last England friendly against Uruguay, when that was the last chance to see him! What did he do? Played Rooney instead! Well that helped decide who else there is, didn't it?!

Did anyone read the article about comments from Ian Dowie regards Johnson's suitability for a place in the squad??

I found the following paragraph very interesting indeed:

Dowie's man still ranks second behind Charlton's Darren Bent for the number of goals scored by an Englishman since Euro 2004 though.

Bent has scored 41, Johnson 39, Wayne Rooney has 38, Jermain Defoe has 31, Michael Owen 30 and Peter Crouch has 27.

Stats show that our man is more prolific than Michael Owen!!

AJ for England!!!

The vote is for who to play alongside owen. Who apart from us would vote for an attack consisting of two midgets! I know.... lets play Owen and Johnson and continually hoof the ball up in the air to them...now where have I seen that tactic before?

MasterYoda

As posted above I'd say yes to AJ in the squad but not to partner Owen. That said he's an ideal replacement if Owen is unfit.

AJ has scored 20+ goals in a single prem season, something Owen, Rooney, Defoe, Bent, Crouch etc have never done.

but Owen had been playing in La Liga as well as being injured for several months, whereas AJ has been in the Fizzy Pop league and was injured for a few weeks.

We all know it will be The Freak up front with Owen. And the only
reason being because Liverpool were stupid enough to pay 7m for him and the media creamed their pants over him even when he couldn't hit a cow's arse with a banjo.

Otherwise he's done nothing to warrant being ahead of AJ, Defoe, Beattie, Fowler, Bent (I could go on) in the pecking order.

To be fair though, the thing The Freak does have that the others don't is the height to scare the shite out of most international defenders, especially given the quality of supplies we should expect from Beckham, Gerrard, etc.

And he's not so bad at holding the ball up whilst the midfield joins the action, something we've sadly lacked for some time now.

I think that AJ deserves a run out in either (or both) the upcoming England friendlies. He certainly deserves a chance to train with the squad to see if he can out-perform Bent, Defoe & Beattie (which he can).

He may have the height but hes no Joe Jordan or Cyrille Regis in the air is he.

Unfortunatley Crouch will get there because he moved to Liverpool and for no other reason

Add to that the fact that the media have continued to 'big him up' despite it being patently obvious he isnt up to snuff, again, just because he is at Liverpool means there is no way in the world that AJ will get ahead of him.

As for those morons on the sky poll who voted for J Cole and Gerrard to lead the line - FFS :bash: :bash:

So the 12 goals he has scored this season and the fact it turned the game when he came on against Argentina are lost on you then?

I just read some clown posting the Steve Gerrard is crap - TBH I think that most of these posters are just flaming their forums for the sake of it. I'm always having problems connecting due to there being too much traffic to the site. It's killing their bandwidth.....

To anyone that knows how, you CAN vote more than once by deleting any "SkySports" related cookies in your internet browser.

At least by voting for him in this poll, his name might get bandied about by the media a bit more and that can be no bad thing.

If you need instructions on how to do this in Internet Explorer or Firefox then let me know and i'll post instructions for you.
