What does this man do?

Whenever he is asked about a player, he always says he's in the process of buying someone, but then we don't get the player. No players in January.

Director of Football you're having a laugh!

I can just about name two decent players he has signed... McAnuff and Ward.

I think our first new signing should be a new director of football.
Then he can sign us a new centre-back, Left back, Left (footed) winger, and Central midfielder.
But it probably wont happen, and we will just sign a striker.

Better start signing some players now. May be we'll have them over the line by the end of August. Oh, and by the way, shift a few out by then too.

Guess it doesnt help when a mouthy chariman alienates most agents, chairmen and managers in the game.

Bob Dowie has done nothing as far as i can tell. We have needed a LB all season, why has'nt this been sorted? We have also needed a target man.........is Macken BD's choice?

Bottom line is though, if BD got sacked etc then ID would go and to be honest if he was to leave i would'nt be that upset.

Other than that let's see his shocking signings to name a few Macken, Andrews the list is endless.

If you dont know what he does how can you say hes not owrth his job?

Unfortunately Iain is the younger brother and often in awe of older brother (previous experience non league non league) Bob, so we settle on signings/transfer targets that he believes in...

What a difference it would make if we had signed all the players we tried to. It's not Iain picking bad players, it's Bob 'getting them over the line'. These are all players we know Palace tried to sign....

Marlon Harewood - big striker and scores goals
Tim Cahill - goalscoring midfielder
Zoltan Gera - winger & scores goals
Neil Clement - left back & scores goals
Nigel Reo-Coker - quality midfielder

Are these the players we need in the squad? Are these the players that would make Palace an awesome team? Are these players Bob Dowier failed to 'get over the line'?

And where are the loan signings? There are some quality loan players out there, we get none of them. How we could have done with someone like Ashley Cole coming in for 3 months!

A chairman who has also publicly stated that he could have signed many of the players mentioned but that they were only motivated by money and not playing for Palace.

We've seen enough of those over the years thank you.

I could have identified Harewood, Reo-Coker, Cahill and Clement. No offence to Bob Dowie, but if we ain't going to pay them money or can't pay the money, what is the point in paying someone to identify the player.

On the other hand, he did identify Macken and I missed that one!

He was good last season.

Shame that this season has been a completely different matter.

Isnt this season the first since 97/98 where we have had no loan players?
Thats what it said in the program
