On Radio 5, the commentator just said that Kolinko plays for Bristol Rovers. Have I missed something?

it came off a defender's head, but Freedman will claim it.

This is actually a quite enjoyable game, 90mins of Dougie is always good in my opinion :D

James
06-10-2001, 09:44 PM
What price a Dougie hat-trick?

SKY commentator has just described it as a 'scrappy' goal - but actually he took it well. He was on the line, and got up there above the defenders. Kolinko was nowhere in sight.

That's a bit misleading - Dougie jumped up on the line, and headed it back - it brushed against the defender as it went in.

Certainly no question of it being a Freedman goal - and I think it was a fairly good one.

All we need now is Clinton for a hat trick.

apparently Rubins might be credited with an OWN GOAL.

Steve in Phoenix
06-10-2001, 09:57 PM
Well Rubins plays as a striker for Latvia whereas Palace stick him on the wing (much like they did with Bent, Collymore and others).

Gareth Williams - Wales U21
Andrejs Rubins - Latvia
Dougie Freedman - Scotland
Clinton Morrison - Ireland- ??

This is a very good showing for crystal palace fc.

1)Gareth Williams scores.
2)Rubins scores. He WAS playing on the left wing for latvia. Considering Latvia were by far the better team and rubins was involved in everything latvia did i don't think anyone can disagree that rubins played well. This is very good for us as he is our back up for julian gray - despite what a lot of people say, on tonights game and his goals against leicester (absolute cracker) and liverpool he is an outstanding sub to have!!
3)Freedman scores. He linked the ball reasonably whenever he got the ball and all the commentators were impressed.

Lets hope clint gets on for IRE.

Dont' miss Kirovski V Jamaica for the USA tomorrow. 7pm Sky Sports.

Just got back from the Scotland game, we were awful!!!!
Freedman had a good game with little support!!!
Rubins also did well and put in some good set pieces
Kolinko had a less spectacular game - at fault for dougie's goal but didnt have anything else to do!!!

lightweight
07-10-2001, 04:35 AM
well done to Dougie & Andrejs - it can only be good for palace me thinks...

let's hope whoever takes charge of scotland realises dougie's one of their best options.. and as has been mentioned - 90 minutes of dougie can only be a good thing!!! ;)
