i remember a couple that were very deep, poor corners.

at least he clears the first man though, unlike a certain Ben Watson.

Hit one in the second half that was screaming to be converted. was between the penalty spot and the 6 yard box, was perfect. Shame we had no playes there and the keeper caught it.

With both Victor and Carle capable of taking corners, we have options in that dept, now. With Ben, it was him everytime. So every mistake he made was magnified tenfold. Nevermind quite a few assists he made from corners.

The Watson can't take corners myth is ridiculous. Check out his assist stats.

Need him to perfect the throw in technique though.

Is there stats for how many successful corners he has taken? And if so, what is deemed 'successful'?

Myth?

That's about as much as a myth as kuqi making gestures at fans is a myth.

Who took all the corners that we scored from then?

UEAgle is right about this one.

only cos he was the only one takin them the law of averages suggests at least some must be converted

Law of averages would say, maybe a couple. We scored a lot of goals from corners.

Watson wouldn't try and aim for a certain area of the box. He would try and place it on some ones head every time as planned in training. As a result he was less successful beating the first man every time because he wasn't content on just floating it in there. When he got it right though we created a lot of chances.

Anyone seen how awkward the corners are at Selhurst? Seriously, if I had to take a corner on that pitch, with there being so little room for movement, I'd probably up every other corner too :D

Shame there is no Hudson to get onto the end of them

Kennedy used to take a good corner and free kick (but did little else). Ben got a lot of his assists for free kicks rather than corners, but he contributed well and was the heart of the team. I want to see Fonte getting on the end of corners, not Lawrence, no matter who takes them.

Am I going mad here? We only had 2 corners I can remember on Saturday, one was cleared easily and the other was straight into the keepers arms with no palace player within 5 yards...

Michael Hughes took a great corner if all you wanted was the ball to go into the edge of the 6 yard box, the fact the keeper took 99% of them is irrelevant.

One post claims that Moses hit a perfect corner but no-one got to it, and it went straight into the keeper  what is perfect about that?

How many free-kicks does Beckham take? and how many of those sail into the top corner? Less than 10% i would hazzard a guess, does that make him a crap free kick taker? Funny cos most regard him as one of the best in the world!
