LEE Hills and Darryl Flahavan are set to join League One side Oldham Athletic on loan.
The Latics are expected to complete deals for the pair tomorrow morning.
Palace boss Neil Warnock told the Palace website: "Lee and Darryl are on their way up as we speak to Oldham Athletic to agree loan moves. We see this as a perfect opportunity for both players to get much needed game time and there is no better way of doing that than to play regular first-team football.
"Obviously they have both featured heavily for the reserves this year but, with all due respect to the sides in that division, the quality is not at the level we would like our first team pros to be playing at, so this move is beneficial for both parties."

This, and SJs plea for more supporters, might suggest NW wants to bring in a loan striker if he can eke out the dosh.

Clyne as deputy LB then?

And who'll be on the bench as sub keeper?

Ah, I thought since we've been allowed to have a million subs, that Flahavan had always been on the bench.

Didn't realise Warnock hadn't been picking him

We don't only have 1 keeper. We have the guy we signed from Arsenal in the summer don't we, Charlie Mann?

Quite - if Speroni is injured or sent off Hill (or Derry, he has been emergency cover as well) plays the rest of the game and NW gets on the phone and recalls Flahaven before the next. Same with Hills I'd guess. Clyne was prefered at lb to Hills on Saturday when Hill was suspended so he must now be cover for either. IF we lost one of Butterfield, Hill or Clyne before rather than dring a match Hills could be recalled, although there would also be options such playing Fonte or Ertl at full back.

Short term - only 1 month. Both are back on the 5th Dec but should give them 4 weeks of games.

From BBC site:

The Football Association is to broadcast the FA Cup tie between Oldham and Leeds on Saturday, 7 November, live on its website free of charge.

Two first-round matches will be shown live on ITV but the FA has stepped in to ensure a third tie is broadcast following the collapse of Setanta.

5.15pm - after Middlesborogh game. Two victories against tykes in 4 hours, then!

So we better hope that Speroni is okay for the cup game in January, and any others we manage.

So should Speroni get sent off in a League game before the FA Cup 3rd round (or can we dream of 4th round this year) we will play some of the league game with either a defender or midfielder in goal and our Cup tie with someone no-one on here has ever heard of?

Jules better make sure he is on his best behaviour before Cup Games!

Even if that happens, they have to let us, we can't attempt to play on a level playing field with no professional goalkeeper.

No, they don't. Something similar happened to Wolves a while ago. They let a 'keeper out on loan without a recall clause and then both their first and second choice got injured. They were not allowed an emergency loan and had to play a kid for two games if I recall. The reason was that the League considered to be Wolves fault because of the terms of the loan. I think if we allow Flahaven to get cup tied - which is our choice - and then Speroni can't play in the cup we could be looking at Anderson or Mann. Hopefully there would be a recall for League games.

I noticed that Wiggins hasnt played for Norwich yet. Be interesting to see who has the better career out of him and Lee Hills.

Has he been injured, it must be frustrating for him..

I scan the Norwich team sheet, he bhasn't made the bench either

Neither has Maric, who seems out of favour, I think he may have played once under Brian Gunn

I thought Wiggins would have been better off going to Bournemouth TBH

It would be nice to be able to watch Hills play against Leeds (who stuffed us in the cup) but I hope 'cup tied' does not come back on us - McCarthy could completely crock again, Clyne has had a fair few injuries and Davis is ceryainly a poor bet not to be injured.

Good move for all. Hills and Flahavan need game time, and first team football is better than reserve - particularly over the beak.

Oldham get two good players and Palace save on wages.

I presume we have an instant recall mechanism

LEE Hills has had his loan spell at Oldham cut short - after being sent off in their 3-0 defeat to Walsall on Tuesday night.
The Crystal Palace left-back will serve a three-match suspension after his 43rd minute red card at the Bescot Stadium.
And Oldham boss Dave Penney decided to send Hills back to South London.
Palace assistant boss Mick Jones said: “Lee only had another two games to go on his loan and in fairness to Dave he needs to get another left-back in before Thursday’s loan deadline.
“There is no point him keeping Lee there for a second month if he’s going to miss three matches.”

Crystal Palace have agreed to extend Darryl Flahavan's loan spell at Oldham Athletic for another month.

The extension will mean that the keeper will be available to the Latics up to and including December 28.

In his first month at Boundary Park Flahavan played in all of their five League One games, but has yet to be on the winning side as Oldham have suffered four defeats and a draw.
