I agree, because if we are in Admin he won't be able to bring anyone in.

It is a sign of the times that an article mainly talking about losing our best CB and perhaps the greatest talent we have produced is deemed positive becuase we are hoping to bring one or two in on loan :(

I don't mean to spread negativity because that article has actually made me smile :)

beggars can't be choosers

We have lost Fonte to cover some debt.

If we bring in a decent CB on loan as a replacement it is some, short term, progress.

We must take pigeon steps, and all in the same direction...

(i have no idea what i am on about in the last sentence)

I would rather just keep Moses until the end of the season if we could and not buy anyone.

Get transfer fees for players and get £10-15k a week off the wage bill. We will reinvest bugger all of the transfer fees and NW knows it. He might if he is a lucky boy and begs SJ get some of the £10-15k a week to get some loans in. Don't forget that having recalled Sears early half of the suggested £400k it cost us to loan him for the season would have changed in the budget so our weekly player costs will have changed by £20k a week.

I'd be suprised if we don't add anyone to the squad between now and the end of the season. Maintaining our championship status is as important as balancing the book at the moment

Flip side, I can see more than just Moses being sold before the end of the transfer window to finance this. £5 million more coming in this transfer window and then we can start looking to reinvest any additional funds on loans and free transfers.

I was happy with the news until i saw people mentioing Tom Soares. If we are that desperate for a player that does little bar watching the game go by, Matt lawrence is almost fit ;)

Should also be remembered that if we sign a loan in Janaury i think we can do a season long deal. If we wait till after and do an emergency loan or start with just 1 month we are limited to 90 days per player. Therefore we would have to wait till 2nd week of Feb to get through to the end of the normal season and late Feb if we had dreams of utilising any loan player in teh play-offs.

Maybe Chris Coleman will do his old club a favour and loan us Elliot? Good defender but Darrens brother.

ELLIOTT Ward’s move to Southampton collapsed at the last minute after Saints signed up-and-coming Exeter skipper Danny Seaborne.

The Coventry City defender had agreed an 18-month contract and was all set to sign at St Mary’s Stadium yesterday until the League One club pulled the plug on the deal.

If Warnock says we're looking at a few, I presume at least one of those won't be a defender. What positions do you think we'll need to fill?

Again, I'm sure we'd all like a striker now that Ambrose has become less prolific and Moses could be on his way out. But who?

Niel Smillie
15-01-2010, 10:29 AM
Reading on another thread today, we are still in a transfer embargo and he will not be able to sign anyone until Moses has been sold for the ban to be lifted.
If Moses goes right at the end of the month, it will give Warnock little or no time to bring players in.

none of those, i'd heard M'Bargo had gone back to his parent club only to sort out somethings before he signs on a permenant life time roling contract and he is to be joined by A.D. Min (north korean legend) + Istra Tion (egyptian wonderkid) who are dynamite in the middle of the park!

If we still owe money to HMRC, wouldn't M'Bargo still be with us?

I've lost track of where M'Bargo is. He certainly gets about.

Reading that it didn't sound particularly great news to me... will wait and see if it actually happens first and who we actually bring in IF we bring in.

Thing is, if we're only looking at loans (which the comments suggest we are), it doesn't make too much difference. The loan window re-opens about 10 days after the main transfer window shuts, and we can then loan people for up to three Months. Unless we somehow made the playoffs, that would take us to the end of the season

At last a spark of positive news. Deep Joy.

the only spark of joy would be if we held onto victor. fonte going was a good deal. Move heaven and earth to keep vic and cash in in the summer. He's flying at the minute, his value won't go down and he might help net us a £50m jackpot!
