...according to Warnock's post-match interview. My blood boils at the thought.

I hate the Premier League

I thought he said 2.5 for vic?

He did say that someone had offered just 1.5 for the pair

And that some of the bids received were insulting and taking the piss (his words)

He said: "One Premier League club offered 1.5million for Clyne and Moses - they are probably trying to get all my players from playing against them.

Thats the quote, sounds like wolves to me.

I really hope this is true!

Stick their offer up on the wall in the changing room before the match and watch Clyne have a blinder against them.

What do you expect?

McCarthy to go 'Hello Neil, yes, I'm interested in two of your players, and since you're in financial difficulty and I could get them on the cheap, I'm going to actually bid 10m for both of them, because that is what they're worth'?

Hoping the administrator will pull Clyne out of the replay. :) Transfer window's closed by then you stupid dicks!

It's not a new tactic in football - the last time we were in Admin. Smallwall offered to buy Clinton Morrison and Hayden Mullins for 100,000. Steve Coppell told them to come back with a couple of noughts on that total - and that shut them up.

I'm sure we (Palace) have put in derisory offers for other clubs players in the past - it's a bit like offering a twig to a drowning man - if he is really desperate, he will grasp anything, if he thinks he can keep his head above water until someone with a more substantial branch to grab hold of comes along, he will tell the idiot what to do with his twig.

Astonishing. You'd think that Wolves, a club that went bankrupt after sliding down the league would know better than to take the piss like this. Still, we can always hope they do a Leeds. *****.

Didn't we get Shipps from Wimbledon on the cheap as they were in admin?

Warnock should have told McCarthy to stick it up his bollocks.

No proof that it was Wolves.

On past evidence Tottenham would be near the top of any list of clubs trying to buy players on the cheap (and they've been actively watching Palace for the last few weeks).

Then there's Portsmouth, a side we could be playing again next season. And who wouldn't put it past Gold and Sullivan to try it on - West Ham.

Warnocks comment about them buying up players so they couldnt play against them suggests its a distinct possibility

Just as easily be Pompey (looking to buy anything on the cheap), West Ham (just the sort of thing Gold and Sullivan would do), or even Hull

Thanks - actually I was genuinely not that sure as I couldn't remember the figures - I thought it was but was prepared for someone to tell me that we had a paid a lot - after all that would be typical Palace. Mind you after that goal whatever the price it would have been cheap

I don't agree with the criticism of MickMac. He is okay. That's not to say that Wolves wouldn't try this. Agree also that West Ham or indeed Spurs are trying it on. Premier League is corrupt. Story. End. Of.

I remember something about that actually, yeah.

EDIT - looking at the thread in which Shipps signed, the fee appears to have been writing off a year's rent - and there's some amusingly unironic comments about how we should raid them, get all their other good players on the cheap etc...easy to be high and mighty at the mo I guess!

1.5 million for BOTH? I'm sorry, but thats a ******* joke. Just heard Man United have agreed a 10 million summer deal for Fulham centre back Chris Smalling. This guy has played ******* ten matches for the first team. No matter how good he is, he can't worth that much on this little evidence, comparing this to the ******* wankers who have offered this shitty little amount for two players who between them have played, what about 80 games? and scored maybe ten goals? its ******* ridiculous. i know we're in administration but even before that people were rumoured to be bidding around this much for vic alone. its ******* ridiculous how we get treated. by ******* wolves as well. hope we ******* batter them on tuesday, *****.

I do remember that the fee was 800K to wipe out the debts the wombles owed us.

Which brings up the question as to whether Altonwood owned Shipps or more likely Palace paid the owed rent to Altonwood.

Didn't we get Boyce on a free as he was out of contract? Are you thinking of Andrew? Either way, the player was given a free by the club.

No proof that it was Wolves.

The gf heard Warnock refer to it in his post-match comments on Palace radio.
She told me that after referring to the derisory offer, Neil Warnock said it should make the match on Tuesday interesting - or words to that effect. She took that to mean that it was Wolves but that may just have been a misunderstanding.

BTW, I think we also got Calvin Andrew from Luton while they were in administration
