View Full Version : Rumour - Clubs after Clyne

Aston Villa lead the race for Crystal Palace starlet Nathaniel Clyne as unsettled defender Luke Young prepares to quit.

Right-back Young is desperate to return to London after losing his place this term to centre-back Carlos Cuellar.

And Villa have identified Palace full-back Clyne as an ideal replacement after he impressed when the clubs met in the FA Cup.

The 19-year-old has been made available on the cheap by cash-strapped Palace's administrators for just under 1million.

Pure guesswork as per usual.

Wouldn't be surprised if Villa or Wolves bought any of our players this summer.

Paper talk assuming we will have a fire sale
Hopefully other news will stop this happening

He is the jewel in the crown, so it is not surprising to hear of interest

Wish it was. Until we come out of administration links like this will be inevitable as will be sales of our best players unless this happens quickly – Guilfoyle has to raise 800K a month just to keep the club ticking over.

Once we are taken over, 4m minimum.... That'll pay for getting the ground back.

Investing in the youth team is the way forward.

Can't help thinking his absense from the first team in last 2 games was due to protecting him from injury and scuppering a move.

Or he was coing back from injury and wasn't fully fit? He took quite a long time to come back last time he was injured (back, I think), so it may be that it takes him a while to get back to peak fitness.

Of course, both these posts, and the article, are just speculation

Naah, Hart said he'd go for experience as much as possible.

Absolutely, just qphaha game while it was obvious both clyne n butterfield were returning early imo from injury i thought clyne coped abit better. But pk's post seems to explain it.

Made the top 50 European transfer targets according to the Guardian.

Pretty impressive when you consider the other names on the list:

2mill...**** off! Insult at that price, and I dont care what our current financial state is, we need to stop being raped by other clubs and now we are on the brink of having new owners can hopefully stand up for ourselves.

Great to see him in there with those other players as it shows how good he is but ssssshhhhhh, lets keep him quiet pls!
