Ancient... :o But solid enough, and takes set pieces.

Their best player against us when he came on, could pass to his own players - well!!!

Latvian should remember him from St Johnstone.

Well given our last signing was the Administrator, this is an improvement....

I do indeed remember him. He was pretty much the star of the Saints team at the time.

Hill's off then

Seems plausible that this is true.

He's solid enough with plentry of experience at this level. Played 27 games for Preston this season, scoring 5 goals in the process.

Will be 34 in June so would be worth a punt on a one year contract.

....did I miss something, isn't M Bargo still "playing" for the team?

He would be a useful addition for a season in my opinion. He seems like a leader to, which is something we would definitely need if both Derry and Hill are out. Assuming they were both to go and we got Davidson, I wouldn't mind him being our vice-captain for next season (Paddy should be captain in this circumstance in my opinion).

:D

Guess it is possible that the CPFC2010 consortium have spoken to Hart about a permanent appointment if/when the takeover is completed. He, in turn, may well be speaking to players about the possibility of joining us once everything has been sorted out.

Takes most, if not all, of Preston's penalties (see his goals on youtube).

He's a thin Neil Shipperley!

Off the point does anyone have a photo of what Neil Shipperley looks like now? My friend said he saw the other month and he was absolutely huge. I can't imagine him to have put on that much weight in the three seasons he's not been playing football.

useful addition on a 1yr deal. The one that got away from Preston that we could have had, would have been Alexander, now at Burnley.

Would be a solid & experienced addition to the squad, sounds a sensible, feasible one.

Before people criticise, if Hill goes and with Hills out, we have no left back. I would say on the right wages on a shortish contract it would be a very sensible signing.

Absolutely. A one year deal gives Hills a chance to recover, and regain his place towards the end of the season. If davidson does well and isn't too expensive, nothing to stop us offering a second one year deal as cover for a hopefully by then fit and established Lee Hills.

Indeed, we probably need four of five cheap experienced signings of exactly this sort to supplement what is likely to be a much different and potentially very young squad next year. This would give us an excellent chance of staying in the CCC, and building for the future

Probably a good shout as Hills is injured & Hill almost certainly off
However, until we come out of admin I can't see us bringing anyone in - by which time, if he's any good, he'll have been signed up by someone else

are we seriously talking about signing players...really?

I know we cannot sign anyone, but it doesn't hurt to pass a comment about whether someone would hypothetically be a good signing or not. Incedentally those that are laughing Davidson off will be in for a shock IF we get bought. This is a nothiong story, but even if we get bought out I doubt we will be aiming much higher than these sorts of signings.

I saw Shipperley at a zoo last summer. Is he big ? Suffice to say one of my kids said "daddy, that man's got an even fatter tummy than you"

Even if we are taken over, this is exactly the type of player we shouldn't be signing. Injury prone journeymen. We should get up and coming players and youth players in most positions, only making exceptions for more experienced pros on frees and smaller fees. Ones who will REALLY make a huge difference

What you mean like Clint Hill was before he joined us?

He is a good player and would be an upgrade on Clint Hill IMO.
