Right, i'm not spending the Administrators money, but if any comes available through transfers and the like, it's rumoured Millwall are tempting Swindon with a 500k bid for this kid.

I saw a decent amount of Swindon last year and he looks like a real star.

If we could get him for a good deal and decent wages then it's the type of player we should be going for right now.

They didn't even sell him they gave him away for nothing as he was out of contract.

Well so they 'gave him away' about as much as we 'gave away' Bostock and Morrison then

Nope - probably won't be able to afford any players this summer. there will be planty of free transfers and loans though.

Apparently premiership interest in him aswell.

Well, as Parish seems to be a motor car fan, I suggest if we do buy him, he gets the squad number 7...... err perhaps not as Ambrose is an Eagle....

So it will have to be 1100 then!

I don't think we could compete for him, we would be better looking at someone like Simeon Jackson, who would be more realistically valued.

i doubt there will be much money for transfers, though i do suspect this could be a little more flexible if the situation is right. ie.. no transfer buget perhaps, but should a real bargain present itself cpfc2010 might endorse a transfer seeing it as a good investment. dont know, just suspect this could be the case. not suggesting this austin is one of these as dont know enough about him.

Would be a good signing should we pull it off, but there are going to be many bridges to cross first. Most important firstly, is to get a manager then see who he wants to bring in.

Jackson signed for Norwich, so another off the possible list.

Any idea how much they have bid? I think if we have to spend money on any position, it would have to be on a goalscorer.

According to todays slp, swindon want 2 million but would accept half that amount-wtf. IF we had to pay a huge fee for some one then he represents ok value(1million)compared to others imo.

Indeed - Bristol City spent 2.2m on Maynard I think? Though he had been playing at League 1 level for longer I think.

2 in the 1st 2 league games this season, maintaining his 1 in 2 league goalscoring record. (not scored in most recent 2 games)

Sam Baldock looks like an interesting one for the shorter quicker striker who knows where the goal is.

It's the kind of player we should be looking to sign if we are looking to invest, in that he will have decent resale value and more importantly, is young and has scope for improvement.

Whether we are prepared/able to spend upwards of a million remains to be seen. I'll never understand why we spunked big money on shite like Kuqi, rather than investing in talent from the lower leagues.

...that was probably one of the most frustrating times as a Palace fan with Scowcroft coming in aswell. Palace should always be hunting for promising, young, lower league talent. Any other approach is a waste of time and money IMO.

He was asked this by one of the papers last week.

He said he'll let his goals answer that question.

Now, I like that attitude.

Sign him up at 1m. His value should only increase here.

My valuation of a league 1 striker would be 1m, but whats the use If we
wont spend any money, I know a bricklayer friend of his who works for his dad
And played with him at Poole, Ive hinted about palace, his agent getting in touch, saying we need a striker, for weeks, but how long he is contracted to
them I dont know.
