View Full Version : Possible Burley Signings

Jimmy Eagle

Managers tend to have players they like to re-sign, a la Warnock. Does Burley have such players? Who can we expect him to bring in?

Inigo Idiakez. No idea how old he is now but I just like his name.

Players he took to Southampton from previous clubs include Idiakez, Rasiak, Skacel, Jermaine Wright and Kelvin Davis. There's probably more but those were the ones than stand out on first thinking.

He made some good singings at the Saints on a tight budget, Safri, Viafara, Rasiak, Skacel, Thomas, Saganowski, Davies and Stern John! He sold well to. He sold Bale, Baird and Jones for around 20m....so think he will be shrewd in the transfer market.

So very unlikely that we will be in a position to sign anyone before start of season then as if im right the date for us leaving admin is virtually the eve of the new season. May as well continue this thread then.

True. But with Carle, Flahavan, Derry and Hill all gone (it would seem), we'll only have about 9 players. So signings, one way or the other, are sorely needed.

If a Premier League club comes calling. And Kingson hasn't played much in the Prem, and even if he had played like Cech, we wouldn't sign him. I thought he played very well today.

I see that Simon Cox at West Brom is on the bench again. When he was playing at Swindon and scoring for fun I hoped we might get in there early doors before he consolidated a high price by continuing his goal scoring. Seems like he hasn't been able to force his way into the baggies side despite coming on as a substitute and being a threat.

I'd be delighted if we got him on loan or nicked him on the cheap. Fingers crossed!

Wasn't it because he got his jaw broken by Carrol, but they've pretty much decided that they'd rather keep Carrol ? On his showing so far this season you'd have to say they might well be right.
