Let's lighten up a little and have some fun. When will George Burley make his first signing?

Say when you think it will be and suggest the player involved.

This must be a fresh signing and not include out of contract players who re-sign, or extended contracts for existing players.

Craig Burley immediately after we can sign players again

Craig William Burley (born 24 September 1971 in Ayr) is a Scottish former international association football player, who played for clubs including Chelsea, Celtic and Derby County. He is also the nephew of former Scotland manager George Burley.[1]

Will he be bringing his zimmer with him and call the gaffer 'Uncle George"?

I don't imagine we'll make any signings until after the CVA issue has been dealt with - so whenever that is :)

When the Football League lift the embargo. Is that when the CVA is agreed or when the FL agree to the transfer of the League Share? Or somewhere in between? I would have thought it was the latter date because that will be the date when the newco is a football club even though the old co is in administration and heading towards liquidation?

(Nugent please)

He'd have to be Lithuanian from Hearts, that was half the problem, the owner wants hsi mates in, Burley didn't.

Burley's first signing will be a contract for 'tony soprano/big vern / Martin McGuinness' to pay a visit to neil warnock to discuss ownership rights of palace players.

CVA meeting the 25th, 2 weeks after that for any appeals, i'm guessing around 13th July (Crawley) we may be out of administration, should the league grant us our share & lift m'bargo, then will be a crazy 4 weeks till we kick off, of hard bargaining & bartering.

Could be wrong but I think you have 28 days to appeal the CVA. That said no reason to assume anyone would - the terms on offer to creditors have been known for long enough therefore they will either accept or reject on the
25th.

Could be a revolving door for a few weeks after 27th July (assuming it is 28 days).

Whenever Palace get the embargo lifted and receive the elusive 'share' I'm pretty sure there will be immediate announcements that at least three players have been signed simultaneously, or in other words they will have already had there contracts agreed and ready to sign

I don't see George waiting to start his recruiting, I think he's already on the case of some decent prospects and to be honest, there's far too many players available for far too few jobs, so it will be interesting who we get 'over the line'.

I think we don't have an embargo any more... reason being in that article saying Dougie won't be registering as a player it says something along the lines of "last season he couldn't because Palace were under an embargo, but now they can sign players he could have registered as a player."

The only people who may want to appeal as far as I can see would be HMRC - they have not shown any indication they will but I don't think they have said anything at all - in any event you can't launch an appeal until the vote has been made as until that happens there isn't anything to appeal as there is no appealable decision.

What could they appeal on the basis of though?

It is the best deal for the creditors and they as long as they get their right share of the vote and it passes can they appeal on any other grounds?

They may appeal Pompey's as it is possibly not the best deal for creditors and the administrators downgraded their level of debt owed to HMRC for the vote.

From an economic point of view HMRC should vote FOR the CVA, it is a matter of principle that they do not.

Oh and on topic - after the next Footall League Meeting.
