We've began negotiations with him on a One year deal. Competing with Falkirk for his signature.

Just read up on him, Notice he failed a medical at Wolves, and seems to have hamtring problems. So maybe steer clear of him? Also he is more of an attacking midfielder than a Fwd, unless GB wants to play 4-3-2-1 or something. Personally I like the 5-5-5 formation

Source? This would be an average signing. Hope he is not in place of signing Garvan. Suppoes they are diffrent players though. Gow to me is too similar to Dorman.

Had a feeling GB would be taking a look at signing this player.

I've read quite a bit about him on the Plymouth forum. They think he's a bit of a twat. Has an attitude problem. Although apparently he does have a lot of skill on the ball. He plays left midfield or centrally up front.

Target man isn't he? Would that spell the end of Alan Lee's time at Palace?

More of a withdrawn forward/ wide man. Definitely not a target man

Ah ok, my mistake. Don't know a lot about him really.

Scores pens thats all i know. Wasn't he quite a good player in the championship a few years back ?

To be fair i don't know much about him so i can't give an opinion. But ig its true if GB thinks its right, then its right :D

Still, i am also desperate to sign Garvan. Our Midfeild would be increadible.

I also like the 5-5-5 formation. And the Spanish 4-25-1 has much to recommend it

He was very good in 2008 for Blackpool when they were managed by Simon Grayson. Grayson rates him and that is as good a reccomendation as you need for the Championship in my book. Wouldn't be suprised if Leeds were monitoring the situation. He would need to pass a medical though and if his hamstrings were done then it would be fairley clear. I hope he does come though as I think he would be good for us.

Would be a decent signing on a one year deal IMO.

27 years old, played at a bona fide 'big club', scored a fair amount of goals everywhere he has been...definitely the sort of gambles we should be taking in our current situation

Plymouth fans didn't like him from what I recall, hardly the sort of player you'd want in a relegation battle.

Good job we're pushing for promotion :D :p

In fact:

Take it and drive him there myself. Undoubtedly talented but a heart the size of a pea.

whilst he is technically gifted, in his admittedly few games for us he never really showed that much effort and commitment to us

I'm not sure he's good enough to play a significant role in moving us up the table. I'm not worried about his attitude, as far as i'm concerned the new staff and the players who were apart of the fantastic attitude we had last season are more than capable of sorting Gow out. It's just whenever i've seen him play he's been shrugged off the ball and forgot what to do when inside the area. I think he'd be better off regaining his confidence in League One or at a mid table SPL team.

My source was a contact within the club. Gow wont be signing though, he'll be heading up north.

Surely that will never happen? Alan Lee is eternal. He'll be our top scorer in the 2030/31 season, mark my words!

You're right PK. As usual. Alan Lee will only leave when he dies. And since he's immortal, I'll be here for a while.

This post is academic given what we've just heard, that he won't be coming anyway, but I wouldn't give him anything more than a contract through to January, a la Oster, the French bloke (surname began with G if I recall) and Ryan Smith under Warnock.

Grifititi or what ever his name was?

As someone else said, was very good at Blackpool. Wolves tried nicking him from under their noses but he failed the medical.

I don't want non-committed players here, so he'd have to prove he had the hunger. 1 year deal tops.

He was excellent at Blackpool. 6 month contract I'd be happy with.

John Halls was actually fairly decent for us wasn't he? In the few games he played?

Where is he at now? Could be worth a look at.

Nathan Ashton fwiw.

Cheers everyone. Fairly surprised at that, like I say, he seemed a decent Championship defender.

ALAN GOW has revealed he is ready to ignore government advice and kick-start his career in strife-torn Iran.

The Foreign Office has advised British citizens against "all but essential" travel to the country after the British Embassy in Tehran was attacked by radicals in November.

But former Falkirk and Rangers midfielder Gow insists he'll have no problem signing for Rah Ahan in the Pro League after two days visiting the Tehran-based club.

The 29-year-old, who quit Indian side East Bengal last month, said: "I have the offer of a deal there and I'm quite happy to take it.

So, he goes from East Bengal to Rah Ahan. I guess his next stop will be Mogadishu United.

And from there he'll join the pirates. Either Bristol Rovers or the Somalian ones, really.
