Haven't forgotten his performance for Boro at Selhurst last season, where some awful defending would have had Boro about 5-0 up by half-time had anyone else being playing instead of Bent.

I think he has only had 2 good seasons in his career and those were years ago. He must have made a fortune with all the moves he has had in his career.
Not one for me really. Watts? Not a clue really, but he has only made a handfull of reserve games for Arse. Prefer Simpson to these two.

I'd be pleased with both of those. I had the pleasure of chatting to Bent in the glorious resort of Faliraki in 2000 and he said something like "I loved my time at Palace, but Venables wanted me out".

I believe that both he and Matt Jansen defered their wages while CP were bang in trouble back then, so i think Bent deserves bit of credit. He's been slated a bit here.

I agree that he might be a bit expensive, but he is a handful and the youngsters around him can reap some rewards from his hard work. Hopefully both players will be hungry.

Sanchez Watt did show promise at Leeds according to my friend who goes to all the matches. Marcus Bent in my opinion has looked woeful for a long time.

However I believe this is total shit, i've never judged Harry Monk for the Nugent situation based on the fact that Taylor admitted he was a target, but the Clinton stuff the other day pushed me over to become one of his many critics.

Players that don't deliver drop down the leagues. Bent may have had a few clubs but he's managed about 400 games in the top two divisions and scored over a hundred goals. Not sure what he'd want in wages but he's a very decent player and better than anything we currently have.

A MOTIVATED Bent would be an asset imo, the talent is there, but is the application? At 32 this is probably his last big move. A year left at Brum, but out of favour, Boro don't want him. A gamble..

Watt is the type who ticks all the right boxes ON PAPER. Young, hungry, pacy, with a premier league pedigree, but then again so was Freddy Sears!

Marcus Bent is a better striker then anybody that we currently have on our books yet people on here would turn their noses up at him? Laughable.

Alan Lee is a good enough striker for a Championship club. Scannell has never had a run of games upfront and Andrew is good enough for back up purposes but should no way be leading the line upfront.

Wolves have loaned Keogh out to make sure he gets games. Bent has come in to replace him in sitting on the sidelines in case any of Doyle, Fletcher or Ebanks-Blake get injured. If they don't, he might not play a single league game for them.

Wolves have loaned Keogh out to make sure he gets games. Bent has come in to replace him in sitting on the sidelines in case any of Doyle, Fletcher or Ebanks-Blake get injured. If they don't, he might not play a single league game for them.

That will suit him fine - his advice to one of the Brum players who took a pay cut to go on loan and get some games in was that they were mad - he was very happy sitting around at QPR drawing his salary - NW told him he might as well go on an extended holiday at the end of last season as he wouldn't get any games and rather than fight for his place or simply train to keep fit, he did. A very pleasant and amiable bloke I have been told but his drive and ambition have all gone.

I know for a fact that Marcus Bent absolutely loved it at Palace. Such a shame that Terry Venables saw fit to sell him for peanuts and replace him with Lee Bradbury :(

Another of those strange decisions Terry 'supercoach' Venables made

I remember Bent scoring a cracking goal up at Anfield and thinking he had loads of potential then we sold him for peanuts!

Indeed; couldn't possibly have had anything to do with "brown envelopes" could it.
