a deserved try-out for Matt. Hopefully he'll get a run-out and a chance to get ahead of Vassell for that 5th striker spot which is basically for experience purposes anyway

Mmm. Hope we don't take anyone 'just for experience'.

My 5 would be: Owen, Fowler, Heskey, Sheringham, Cole.

All proven strikers, unlike Vassell/Jansen.

Ehiogu as well.

If none of these defenders can go, then surely the most consistent English defender of recent months should go. Someone who is able to beat attackers with the ball at his feet and spray passes around the pitch when required, or simply clear the danger if necessary.
