Paul Evans, Brentford

maybe Darren Barnard, Barnsley.

Gareth Ainsworth

Maybe Lloyd Owusu as backup ...

Past player I know but Andy Roberts worth a look. Not the most inspired of lists is it. Out of that lot I would take Simon Rodger to be honest. :p

Breen, Evans, Barnard and Ainsworth would be good back up. There are some awful players there! that may appeal to TF ???

Steve in Phoenix

Breen and Hall would be good but are probably on Premiership wages and we would have lots of competition.

My top target for Palace would be Jon McCarthy I havent seen him lately and maybe he's lost his polished skills but he was a real force in Division One. Fast, genuinely dangerous crosser on the right, he can score a few too.. would be a great balance to Jules Gray. He offers us something we really dont have.. goalscoring midfielder and right-sided crossing.

Darren Barnard and Nordin Wooter would be nice acquisitions but not really that necessary. Gareth Ainsworth would fit our squad perfectly. Wouldnt mind Duncan Jupp or Dean Blackwell either but I think it would be better to go for a cheap signing in Shaun Murphy because we know he would be a good backup and plays well with Popovic.

Lots of interesting possibilities which is why I dont mind TF revamping our midfield, sad as it is to see Rodger go.

I know Dean Blackwell and he has a ward at St.Anthonys named after him as he is in there so much! :)
I could get complimentary tickets for every game though so it could be a good signing.

I would also take Evans and Owasu from Brentford. There are no players in the out of contract players from Division One I would take though.

Thank you for your excellent research Sunny Fan. Oooooh, you must be very clever as you read the guardian.

Thanks again Sunny Fan for your excellent post. It has made my BBS day.

Richard Shaw, how good was he against us 'last' season.

Paul Evans, heard he's amazing.

Stuart McCall ?? A bit old, I know....but still in as cover for Aki ?

Personally, I think a few of the youth team should come through for first team action next season. Then again, Neil the Eagle or Mr. Russell would give a better/more constructive opinion of that than I could.

Wolves Kevin Muscat

Kevin Muscat has joined Glasgow Rangers on a free transfer but furious Wolves chief executive Jez Moxey insists "the matter is not yet dead".
The Australia international, who is now out of contract, admitted on Sunday that he was expecting to leave Molineux this summer after Wolves' failure to win promotion to the Premiership.
Speaking to TEAMtalk, Muscat said: "It is fair to say that I could be leaving Wolves. A lot of rumours have been written, but at this stage I wouldn't like to say too much apart from it is fair to say I will probably be on my way."
The 28-year-old has now revealed that he signed a pre-contract agreement with the Scottish giants and will be leaving Wolves - but Moxey has hit out at the defender, insisting the deal is against Football League rules.
Moxey said: "It's in contravention of the Football League rules and regulations. This is down to ignorance on the part of the player.
"I'm obviously very unhappy and annoyed at the situation. I'm making no apologies for expressing my disappointment and anger over what has happened."
He added: "It raises all sorts of questions and the matter is not yet dead."

I think that the only one really worth signing is Breen. We need strength in defense, and he is one of the best defenders in the division. However, he wouldnt sign for us so end of story really.

Would any of the others really improve our team?

hmmmm.... so much choice! to be honest out of the lot of them id only pick the old warhorse stuart pierce. i know hes long in the tooth now but great backup (and we need that with our defence!) and such an example of positive commitment and passion has to rub off on those around him. SJ get that chequebook out!

i think theres going to be very little activity in the transfer market this close season though as the clubs try to balance their books!

Jovan is off to brum almost definately, which i would have thought a shame until i saw him against preston- looked unfit and like he didnt want to know.

I'd take Owusu and Georges Santos (not a popular choice, but he's always impressed me).

I've only seen Paul Evans once, but my immediate impressions were: incredibly short, quite fat, quite old, works fairly hard, makes the best of little skill, passes reasonably, quite good football brain. Can this be the player so many are raving about?

Is the Phil Gray at Oxford the Northern Ireland international one? If so, he might be worth bringing in as cheap cover. He had a lot of skill for the level he played at.

Are you sure you've got the right player Gavin !?

Evans does work hard as you point out and is also a midfield leader, something we've sorely missed since the departure of Houghton and Hopkin (first time round !).

Evans also has a wicked shot from distance and takes good free kicks as well !

Inter put Ronaldo up for sale

Internazionale president Massimo Moratti has revealed that he is willing to sell any of the current squad - including Brazil forward Ronaldo - in the wake of the club's failure to lift the Scudetto.

"I hope Ronaldo will play next season but if there's someone ready to make an offer for him, I will listen," he said.

Part ex for Morrison, along with a couple of million for us?

Nah, he's got too much of an attitude problem, never applies himself, he only scores goal after goal, not Trevor's type at all.

We could really bankrupt the club with some of those players!
Ballack, Viduka, Owen, Van de Meyde, Danny Murphy, Ricardo Fuller & Pennant for starters.

But players that NW would realistically be looking at possibly would be Lee Martin, Vaz Te, Jason Brown (GK back up for Flahavan if JS goes) & Mamady Sidible?

One thing is for sure, a lot of players will be looking for work and the realism of how good they have been living in recent years will hit home.

What about Adriano Leite Ribeiro? He's out of contract. Sure he hasn't been able to get on the reserve team lately, but he was considered a halfway decent prospect a few years ago and is still young. Plus, I'm sure he'd love to learn the ways of first team football from NW.
