I hope this hasn't been done before, but who's gonig to get the golden boot?

I think it will be Vieri.

Hakan Sukur of Turkey.

A longshot I know, but apart from Brazil they've got Costa Rica and China in their group and could be playing Russia or Belgium in the next round so he could get a few goals. Remember the golden boot winner generally only gets 6 goals and hasn't come from the winners in the last 4 World Cups.

I think I'm right in saying that Henry won it last time - from the wing.

France are bound to make the semis at least, so he's a dead cert.

Davor Suker did win the golden boot in 98, but romario was joint winner in 94 and of course won the world cup with Brazil.

I've gone for Ronaldo. Partly for the same reasons that Reps AJ has gone for Suker, in that Brazil have two weak teams in their group and then a fairly easy 2nd round match. Also I watched the end of the Italian season and ronaldo was looking very good.

For Fance 98 I drew Davor Suker in a sweepstake and thought "oh no there goes my money" but then he went and won it. Cheers Davor :p

Don't forget that Russian who scored 5 in a 6-1 win and then scored in only one other game to tie for the golden boot in 94

Oh yeah, Oleg someone.
Didn't Roger, 'I'm aged at least 46' Milla also score in that game? Hilarious.

As I'm backing England all the way I think it will be Owen. He is turning into a good little goal poacher now, so he should get a few. Hopefully against the argies.:p

5 goals
Miroslav Klose, Germany

4 goals
Jon Dahl Tomasson, Denmark
Ronaldo, Brazil

3 goals
Papa Bouba Diop, Senegal
Christian Vieri, Italy
Pedro Pauleta, Portugal
Rivaldo, Brazil
Marc Wilmots, Belgium
Raúl González, Spain

2 goals
Jared Borgetti, Mexico
Junichi Inamoto, Japan
Robbie Keane, Ireland
Henrik Larsson, Sweden
Hasan Sas, Turkey
Nelson Cuevas, Paraguay
Rónald Gómez, Costa Rica
Fernando Hierro, Spain
Fernando Morientes, Spain

Only Ronaldo, Vieri and Raul out of the pre-tournament favourites are in with a chance of winning it. Same on people for not mentioning Miroslav Klose before the tournament began.

Does anyone else think its a bit dodgy of FIFA to award Ronaldo the own goal that was scored against Costa Rica?

Is there a FIFA conspiracy? They wouldn't ban Rivaldo and now they give Ronaldo a helping hand to the golden boot.

Even if you take that goal away Ronaldo won the golden boot by a clear two goals. But I agree it was an own goal, and so was Rio Ferdinand's effort against Denmark.
