View Full Version : Birmingham release three players

Bruce is releasing three of Trev's old players at Brum - Dele Adebola, Danny Sonner and Jon McCarthy.

All available on bosmans, all former Francis favourites. What bets on at least one of them ending up here?

I imagine we'll see Adebola at Selhurst before long especially as Ade is out for a while

Have to agree. Looks like Adebola - god knows we've been linked with him long enough.

all reserve players, McCarthy isnt a bad play but whether he is the bast player we can get i dont know adebola is not great and we keep well away

Adebola would be good. Danny sonner is a good midfielder, Im sure he was getting attention from premiership clubs not so long ago.

Hmmm Akinbaye & Adebola:eek:

Don't quite run off the tongue like Wright & Bright does it:sob:

Why didn't we buy Adebola instead of Ade ?? I think he's good at what he does - bruise defenders.

Could have worked very well as a sub for Morrison or Freedman at the back end of last season....just a thought.

Adebola is like an Akinbiyi that doesn't **** himself when he needs to shoot.

Well said Dartford. Look at Adebola a big donkey who went off and failed on loan at Oldham! Sonner average at best. McCarthy 2 broken legs in last year nuff said

and you thought we got laughed at for buying Akinbyi.

Just wait for it if we buy Adebola

As Sir SC wisely said, McCarthy is washed up following succesive horror injuries.

Danny Sonner is no better than Steve Thomson (maybe not as good) and has trouble keeping on the right side of referees.

Adebola is a big carthorse, but would be useful as a back up.....but I'd prefer to see Routledge given a chance if we needed to bring cover in for Doug and Clint/Ade.

Brentford, now Birmingham. Are we reduced to sniffing around the cast offs of our former managers?

With every successive player we get linked to I get more miserable. It's like a living nightmare.

We dont want any Brum rejects, there first team was pants enough when i saw them!

I suggest that players like Adebole may have a tough time finding a new club. He was probably well paid(for FL players) and not many clubs in the Nationwide will want to offer him that kind of money.
I doubt Palace will sign anyone this season, who has played for a "biggish" club, as the wages would be way too high.
Owosu is attractive as he plays for RN's Brentford and we know he is not getting paid a high salary.
