Well, knackered after getting up at 7am on a Sunday - but the match was worth it.

Great last gasp goal!

To be honest cannot really form an opinion, I was half asleep (as were most of the crowd at the game for some reason)

There aren't any worries that we didn't already know about anyway.

Total fluke that I looked at the BBS and managed to see the 2nd half of the game. I had completely forgotten the match.

As I only saw the 'reserves' I probably have a skewed view of the game.

On the good side is :

Owen Hargreaves - tackles well, gets around the park and he is able to give himself enough time on the ball to find a man (except when he hits it long).

We managed to scrape an equaliser to save our first defeat with Cameroons

Errrrm, little else though.

On the bad side:

Cameroon played the better football for most of the half.

England consistently gave the ball away in all areas of the park.

Sinclair struggled again until the end when he settled for making a series of 1 - 2's with Hargreaves and Bridges which was getting him into interesting spaces.

Danny Mills playing in Beckham's position ! ! ! I understand but nooooooo.
I am sure he would have been sent off at least 3 times for pushing or raising his hands against players after the whistle had gone.

Cole - although there are flashes of the genius he doesn't look like he feels he has arrived yet. Not getting a grip of the game.

Sheringham, is always going to struggle playing right up front due to lack of pace. In the box or in the hole when the balls in play he still does good things. Pace will let him down this time around.

Overall, I would worry about our ability to play more than 3 of these players in the first team without us losing the plot, and moreimportantly the ball - all of the time.

Keeping the ball is what the world cup is all about. But then we never have really grasped that.

Here's hoping, cos the bench did look good, even if half of them can't walk :-)

a lucky result but it was virturally a reserve team playing - add becks...to the team it will make a difference!

Reserve team, really ?
Against the Argies - Owen & Vassell up front, Sheringham just behind.

Looking at your stats I would guess the Argie game is later, if they are all being shown live. In Blighty Nigeria is 07.30am, which ties in with Sweden at 10.30am, but Argies are on at 12.30 pm. So I would expect a two hour differential between your Swedes and Argie timetable.

I best check if I were you, no wonder we sent you down to the colonies. :p :D
