This may have been covered in another thread weeks ago but, who do you see as Englands player who could make a real name for himself. I think Owen Hargreaves could be the man to fill Gerrards shoes, I didn't see the friendlies being half way round the world but apparently he was very good. From what i've managed to gather over the last few day Gerrard is definately out. Joe Cole aswell maybe.

I think Kieron Dyer if he plays.

I agree. Dyer possesses qualities that you usually do not see in English players.

Promising player most likely to NOT deliver - Dyer
Young Star - Hargreaves.

I agree! Hargreaves is looking useful - never been sure about Dyer. Hopefully Joe Cole might produce a few moments of magic if he's given the chance.

I know he's been around a bit but given the chance this will be Fowlers opportunity to show he's a world class player.

Fowler is a good call. Best all round striker in the country.
Wayne Bridge and Ashley Cole will surprise the rest of the world, expecially if Sven has the b@lls to play Cole in front of Bridge - they will terrorise teams down the left.

On todays form, of the "young guns" only Vassall had an alright game.
Cole (A) was O.K. but Hargreaves was overwhelmed (probably not just his fault).
