Expect Palace to make movement on the transfer front for Evertons Scott Gemmill in the coming weeks.

Talks between the players agent and representatives have already occured although they are only preliminary at this early stage.
Not the best player in the world, but a tigerish and tenacious player, who's play is sometimes not given the credit it deserves.
Opinions on his possible arrival

I personally have never really rated him. At 31 though, would this be a typical TF signing:rolleyes:

We need someone in the centre of midfield.
Someone who can put it about a bit,but who can also pass the bloody ball!

it's just what we need, an experienced head in the midfield to exert an influence on the younger ones (especially Gray,Black,Rubins and sometimes Aki who is still quite young)

I saw Gemmill quite a lot last year, my mate's dad works for the Everton, and quite frankly I think we've got better in our squad. If he's on a free then okay, otherwise, I'd say keep the money and give it to Clint and co.!!!

Think he would be a good addition to our squad.

Typical TF signing - but who cares?

Trevs signings so far have been ASTUTE

Symons, Fleming + Granville, all very good signings at the right price.

Akinbiyi - 2.2m - aaagh!

Scot Gemmill, very tidy player, would be a good acqusition, is he on a bosman?

Talk is though that Akinbiyi wasn't Trevor's signing, but Jordans'.

Symons - old, injury prone, everything to prove, (5 games last season ?
 )
Fleming - good player at the twilight of his career : he MIGHT make it through 2002/2003.
Granville - goodish at times.
Gemmill - more of the same, PREM potential ? I think not, but then TF doesn't expect us to get promotion does he ?

And does Scott Gemmill fill that role in your opinion? In mine, he does although he is only a short-term solution. Really we need someone a bit better and younger, but we could do worse. He's better than Hopkin, Thompson and Rodger, so he would improve the team

I never really rated him but my Evertonian mate (well not really mate he's such a sarcastic nasty git!) said his form was so good last season he soon became a vital player, so would they sell him? As long as fee and wages were low I'd be happy to have him next to Aki with an attacking midfielder infront of them and Thomson replacing one of Aki n Gemmill when injuries occur

My Evertonian Friend states he doesn't tackle but he can pass well. He could fit in well next to Aki.

That'd be nice, can't see it, but it'd be nice.

I've always thought this guy was a pile of steaming turd. I've ripped it out of my work mate for months because he thought he was ok and now we might be signing him...... :sob: :sob:
