Yes, shame TF didn't find out until something like Granville's 12th cap:rolleyes:

I think Butterfield and Derry both looked like they wanted a go yesterday.

Palace have always seemed to lack a really decent free kick taker in my opinion ... Deano would always have a thump but generally were lacking in direction to say the least and Pitcher's chances would generally end up in the Upper tier. Hows about a poll on the best ever Palace Free kicks or shots from distance * Gordan Petric v Sheffield United etc etc
:p

Please no short corners. Bloody things are useless. Granville to carry on shooting when its in range. Occasionally when we play it into the box do it with pace, or try and get the ball to the byline and crossed back.

How much longer are you going to whinge about TF and start giving the guy a bit of credit?

Hope TF gives them the chance to prove their skill or not!

when there's something to credit him for.

Anyway, i'm only saying what everyone else is thinking. Aren't potential signings scouted anymore? Wouldn't a scout of told him if he is good at set pieces?

Suggest you read some of the dozens of posts on several different threads, giving credit to TF for the signings he has already made this season for the Club. Or does your blind anti-Francis prejudice make it impossible for you to read anything other than criticisms of him? Are we all out of step except you?............

What, like buying Symons, Fleming, Akinbiyi, Adebola, Johnson, Butterfield, Powell and Derry to give us one of the best backbones for a team in many a year.

What, like refusing to prove the doubters right by playing "hoof ball"

What, like 4 points from the opening two games against solid teams

Remember "The Life of Brian"? (Yes it is relevant)

Bit like John Cleese and the famous "What did the Romans ever do for us?" scene:p

(Of course if you DIDN'T see it you won't know what I'm on about:rolleyes: )

we didn't have any free kicks in shooting range. But the delivery of corners and free kicks was far better yesterday, Butterfield from the right and Granville from the left worked well in my opinion, they were harder for the keeper to get because they weren't curled in and it allowed people running in to get a good powerful header in, if only Derry could have headed anywhere but straight at their keeper........

Derry? WHat about Powells good effort but right at the keeper?..ALSO Butterfields crosses were top draw agreed, BUT Granville?..I thought he played his worst game for us last night.............

Lucky Julian Gray is on his way back then! I really hope that Granville loses his place because Julian Gray is not only better at going forward and taking free-kicks (NOTE: every1 always talks about Granville's efforts, but it is only Julian Gray who actually scored with a gem of a free-kick (more pace on the ball you see!)), BUT HE IS ALSO A BETTER DEFENDER! I'm not knocking Granville. He is ok. But he is only average and Julian Gray is one of our best players, and potentially the best player in our team

Last free-kick specialist we had was a certain Itzik `I have fire in my boots` Zohar!

Shame he couldn't do anything else!
