If Pardew joins, does he bring Andy Woodman with him as GK coach?

If that happens do we bring Freddie Woodman back to Palace?

All coaches and scouts at Newcastle are on very long contracts. Would Palace pay the money?

I imagine that would be part of the negotiations between the clubs, assuming AP wants to bring Woodman with him, as seems likely

Not sure Newcastle will be very willing to part with Freddie.

Depends what contract he is on as to what option they have. He is still only 17. We were not very willing to let him go in the first place.

Pretty sure he will be well tied down there. Having said that they have three keepers ahead of him who aren't exactly "old".

No chance. He's got a pro deal.

As above, would cost too much. Plus we already have a number of keepers at that age.

Only know Gregory now, Woodman is very highly rated but I doubt he will move back now just because Andy does. At the time he went up there he was about 14 which kind of made sense.

Probably depends on how long Freddie has left on his deal and whether he wants to follow his dad everywhere ;)

Depends if he would want to move with his family, the key is how long any deal is.

Andy Woodman was a proper Palace fan - He was there in 79 against Burnley when Palace were promoted and rose through the youth team where he nearly made the first team but was released by Smith in a way that left him struggling to get a club in time - He was so unhappy that he swore he would never return to the club! Now 20 years he may well return!

It should be mentioned that he was such a livewire that Coppell like to have him in the squad party and he was in the party for the semi at Villa park.

Freddie was the goalkeeper in my nephews team, they were best mates. Always stood out even at a young age

was just going to say worth reading 'Woody and Nord' - showed some of the great camaraderie and friendship between Woodman and Southgate, including a great story about Ron Noades shoes and a lift IIRC!

Alan Smith was a dick to Woody. As I recall he used to screw him over in the reserve team. I am surprised he kept him as the sub all of the 93/94 season.

Andy also got sent off twice in his first few games at Exeter. Hardly an auspicious start.
