The news has been announced by the Morton Chairman on the supporters unofficial website (their equivalent of the BBS) which shows what an affinity he has with his supporters.

It has been greeted by their fans as though Ronaldo is joining.

I'm not too technical at this sort of thing, so will probably screw it up. However, you can see the Chairman's announcement and the fans reaction on http://www.mortonunofficial.net/forum/read.php?f=1&i=7834&t=7834
Forget his last period with us. Just remember he gave us our most exciting memory in recent history. I wish him well, and also congratulate their Chairman in the manner he broke the news.

What?

Even if he was a number of classes below palace he will be a class above now. I'm happy. Mon the ton!

Good luck to him, thankfully he moved on before his last stint at the club blemished the memory of 'HOPKIN LOOKING TO CURL ONE!!!!!!!!!!!'

Oh that goal will always be so memorable to me!

I wish him well and hope he can settle and find some form.

Quite so, Symon. Hopefully he can shine at this level where his skill should show. Morton went through a terrible time, nearly going out of existence, and falling into Div 3 last season, but they have some fabulously committed and friendly fans, and this signing has given them all a lift.

Mon the ton indeed!

Saw Morton in their game this season at Gretna.
Good following for the 'ton.
Interesting to note that Gretna are now top of Scottish Div 3 after being mid-table in the Unibond First Div last season, i.e. 5 divisions below us. What does that say about Scottish football and Hopkin's capabilities now?
