Hi everyone,

My Uncle isn't on here but has asked me to pass on a message.

A family friend of his sadly lost their 10 year old son on Thursday. He was absolutely Palace mad & a season ticket holder in the family stand.

It has been organised so that his picture will be shown on the big screen in the 10th minute, so a minutes applause can take place.

It'd be really great if as many people were aware of this as possible so the lad gets the send off he deserves.

Thanks in advance.

Such sad news nothing will bring their young lad back but win would lift spirits as it would've made their boy so happy. RIP , of course will join in from the AW.

:( condolences.

If that doesn't put into context the futility of worrying about football, nothing will.

Hope we score in the 10th minute for him. Is there an unwritten law that goals don't get scored during marks of respect? Its a fairly new phenomenon isn't it.

It doesn't matter if we stay up or go down, this shows losing a member of the palace family is more guntying in life and so young as well

Let's hope they put in the same effort that will be made in the stands at the 10 minute mark to reflect this

Rip, condolences to all the family

This is one of those times that a thousand words aren't enough and one word seems too many.

I doubt there'll be a dry eye in the ground at the 10 minute mark.

Not that it means much compared to losing a life, but winning it for the young lad would be extra special.

The club always seem to get these things slightly wrong.

Hope the applause was of some comfort to the family.

It's a shame it wasn't on the screen although the applause was very loud and spread around Selhurst. Unfortunately a few seated near me had no idea what it was for, so I had to explain (as I expect did many others to puzzled neighbours in the ground today).

I've just played back the Sky recording and it's clear that the commentators had no idea why we were applauding either as no mention was made of it.

I'm not sure why the picture didn't appear on the screen at 10 minutes. Was it an oversight or a decision not to cooperate?

Nor did they know on 5live, they mentioned it was in the 12th min.

Yeah, to be fair I think we had a corner in the 10th minute so focus was on that. As soon as that died down, the applause started & it was class.

As for why his picture wasn't shown, I'm not sure of the ins & outs of it. All I do know is the club have apparently been very helpful/kind to the family. So I don't want to point fingers. We should just focus on the great send off he got from our fans. Well played everyone.
