Sven Scheurer or however it's spelt used to be Bayern Munich's second choice GK for ages until Bernd Dreher finally forced his way in as Kahn's number two. Then Stefan Wessels came along, a highly rated young German, and Schurer was released. He's 31 I think. Probably a short term deal.

Only caught the end of the news, but I think it's a Berhalter/Verhoene type trial.

Ok Whose that, Whose that?? From the scraps I have found about him he sounds good cover but not alot to go on! Ex-Bayern player D/O/B
19/01/71 that makes him 31. My German isnt too good but from what I can make out he is 187 cm tall and weighs 87kg. His nickname is wait for it "Sveni" :p. Has played 6 matches for Bayern in German Masters?, Uefa Cup match in 1997. Of course he is Deutch! You can e-mail him and suscribe to his website. He speaks a bit of English!!! Last club was FC Saarbrücken. Not quite sure about how many matches he has played as I couldnt translate that bit very well!:sob:

It was just the other day (no idea why) that I was thinking about who Bayern Munich's third keeper was in 1997/98, and now he's with us. How weird. He's 31, 6'2" and I think it will be intresting to see what he's like. Might be a surprise package.

Fingers crossed he's half decent.......

b. I am 5'8" which infers I am average height, so I am not little.

a. Since when did age become a 'technicality'?
b. Since when did 8 minutes past 5 make you average height?

Only joshing of course!! :clown:

Is 5'8 really average height?

I would have thought 5'10 would have been more like it for men these days.

My friend is 5'8 and everyone calls him "Little Mike" hence I think its the general consensus that yes, Latvian, you are midget.

He's signed on a short term contract. We've also taken Michopoulos on a one month loan from Burnley. Alex is out tomorrow so one of the new boys will play.

See your point.
When Aki slips up (not likely) he would say: (In finnish): "Perkele" or (in Norwegian): "Faen".

By the way: Rosenborg (Norway) needs to "get rid of " one of their goalkeepers. Either 1st keeper Arason (Iceland) or 2nd keeper Johnsen (Norway). Both are National keepers with Champions League experience.... (Should be better than a third ranked keeper for a medium standard european team, wouldn't it...?)

Not included in today's squad, so I guess he's left the club.

This is on the South London Press site

Gray coming back but Sven is going Oct 4 2002

South London Press

MIDFIELDER Julian Gray played 45 minutes of the reserve's 4-2 win against Plymouth on Monday night at Carshalton.

He was building his fitness up after a five month lay-off with split tendons.

After playing the full 90 minutes in the goaless draw at Hillsborough last week, Gray started against Gillingham on Sunday but was taken off at half-time after Trevor Francis said he lacked any spark.

Gray said: "I actually felt okay on Sunday but I'm just not fully fit yet. It will take a few more games to get that fitness back."

The reserve line-up included triallist keeper Sven Scheuer, Shaun Derry and Dean Austin.

Scheuer made a mistake for one of the Plymouth goals. Perhaps unsighted by the floodlights, he allowed a 25 yard cross-cum-shot to fly over his arm into the top corner.

He is expected to leave Selhurst Park this week. Gareth Williams overcame his first half penalty miss to score in the second half.

Further goals from Austin, Ben Surey and an own goal saw Palace take the points.

I'd be happy with this I've always thought he was a good keeper and is highly rated by my Grimsby mate.

Grimsby keeper (and Welsh international?). Seems to be one of their best players, been quite impressed with him a couple of times.

He seems ok (but he didn't play very well when we put 5 past them at Selhurst last season).

Mind you, they put even more past us didn't they? :sob:

Thats a shame. I thought he was the best keeper in the division last season. Some of the saves he pulled off were outstanding.
