Trevor Francis tried to get in Mark Crossley on loan from Boro but was turned down by Steve McLaren, before turning to Nik the Greek. Still things seemed to have worked out OK in that regard anyway :p

Clapham Grand doesn't need to tell us his sources - he's come up with the goods on a number of occasions.

C_Block_Head however, regularly comes up with comments seemingly designed to prove his utter stupidity and lack of common sense/decency :p

I don't think it would have been that bad a move.

Met Mark Crossley in Kavos, Corfu when playing for Forest, the year they were relegated (around 1992).

My two Forest supporting mates approached him in a bar for a chat, and he ended up buying them drinks all night, saying how gutted he was for them and the club at the time.

A top bloke.:p

Crossley has lost a lot of weight and is desperate for 1st team action.

I would have been more than happy if we had managed to snap him up!

Crossley is currently number 2 at the Boro so always on ther bench. Saw him at the Worthie cup match between Brentford and Boro, in the 2nd half he pulled off 3 or 4 good saves. He is still a good keeper, even though the wrong side of 35. Last season when Schwartzer was injured he played (for 2 months or so) and he was outstanding, not suprised Mcclaren would not loan him out. I think he has signed a new contract if not is in the process of sorting one out. Ironically Boro's 3rd choice keeper is Marlon Beresford who is currently between the sticks at Burnley!!! (on loan).

Im not trying to be clever by correcting you, but Crossley is only 33 and Beresford was released by Boro in the summer and is on a month to month contract at Burnley! :)
