View Full Version : Freedman out - Bowyer in

stannard

Apparently Freedman is on the move to Millwall and Bowyer has agreed to come on loan with a view to a permanent move. I heard this from a mate who is a die hard Millwall supporter.

Saying that, I not sure how he would know about Bowyer!

Steve Bowyer, the Millwall central defender. Vital cover at the back.

Millwall just signed Barry Hayles from Sheffield Utd (SSN), so Freedman move unlikely.

anyone else confirm this?

Oh yes, of course. I'd forgotten how few defenders we have ;)

It would not suprise me one bit seeing Dougie moving to Millwall. Despite signing Hayles, they are still on the lookout for another striker, and I had heard various people up at Boro saying it was close to completion.

On Lee Bowyer, If ID can get the best out of him, this would be an amazing signing. I have been saying all evening that I expected us to sign one more player, and maybe, just maybe, this could be the one.

Less than 2 hours for it to happen if it is gonna happen. Im not holding out for anything.

This sounds like bullshit and i desperately hope it is. Nightmare deals - Dougie is perhaps my all-time favourite, and Bowyer, however talented, is a despicable little human being.

I expect us to announce all of todays deals at once, so I expect something to happen, but more likely tomorrow morning.

one of my wall mates told me the freedman rumours earlier this week so that's no surprise... bowyer is a midfield battler (and racist , little shite) which is what we need (not the bit in ( ) ) so that make's sense too

Unfortunetly the first bit is very much true. The rumour doing the rounds up at the Riverside on satuday was that Dougie did not play against Boro because he was very close to joining Millwall. Would not be nice too see, but Dougie is not good enough for the Premiership.

On lee Bowyer, he may be a little thug, but if ID can get him back to his best and enjoying his football again, this would be a bargain. He has all the qualities of the midfielder that we have been crying out for all summer.

as much as i hate bowyer i have to point out that he's the exact player we've all be begging for (potentially) a creative midfielder, and a battling midfielder in one.
i do hate him, and i did love to see darren pitcher's stud marks on his chest but as a player he fits the bill imo

bowyer would do a good job for us. i don't know why everyone hates the bloke - he had a fight in a night club once, was pretty much cleared and all of a sudden he's scum. i'd welcome a signing like lee bowyer.

Sir.S.C Remembered
31-08-2004, 09:26 PM
Bowyer would be great despite his history and rumours of his behaviour to ex girlfriends when he was at Charlton that I heave heard suggesting he is a horrible bloke. He finally looks like he is getting back to form when coming on for NEwcastle recently although I think he may wait until the new manager comes in to see if he will start more games and even if he doesn;t he is quite in the frame there and they are a big club and it would be a considerable drop which would have been affected by Robson going

nottsunieagle
31-08-2004, 09:27 PM
bowyer would be a class addition for us, despite his off-the-field problems.

however with 90 mins to go i seriously doubt the validity of this rumour.

Sir.S.C Remembered
31-08-2004, 09:29 PM
O yes I doubt the validity to for the reasons mentioned by others and those I mentioned but he would be great as getting back to form, proven Prem class in the position we are crying out for

If your memory stretches back past the 21st century, you'd know why most Palace fans can't stand him. You may have forgotten.

I would not. I would jump up and cheer if he scored/was involved in a goal because Palace would have scored, but I would be unlikely to cheer his name or chant for him because I really dislike him.

Can't see it happening myself, though he could be tempted by a move back to London. Nasty ****ard that would need to be brilliant to win the fans over, but just ask any Birmingham fan what they thought of Savage before he signed and what they think now. He could do a similar job for us.

True Eagles # 1 a realistic voice speaking. I mentioned the situation with the manager but unless he was so intent on moving back to London and taking a massive wage drop this is not going to happen.

Bowyer has a long history of racist incidents, and is a nasty little thug. Doubtless he would have done a job for us in midfield, but I would never have done anything but abuse the little sh@t. There are just a few things more important than football.
Anyway, fortunately it was all bollox.

Bowyer is a pikie, racist (who was also banned for taking drugs before his career had barely started at Chortleton, if you recall).

I would hope never never to see his like signing for Palace - it's important to keep some principles, even in the murky world of football.
